Sergeant Major Jonathan B. Faff
Command Senior Enlisted Leader
Combat Logistics Battalion 25

Sergeant Major Faff is a native of Fairfax, Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in October 2001. He completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina and the School of Infantry (East), at Camp Geiger, North Carolina graduating with the MOS of 0311, Infantryman.
  
In April, Private First Class was assigned to 2nd Battalion 8th Marines, Company F, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After being promoted to Lance Corporal he deployed as a Squad Automatic Rifleman with Task Force Tarawa, in January 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In November 2004, Lance Corporal Faff deployed to Afghanistan as a Squad Advanced Marksman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In May 2004, he was promoted to Corporal. Upon returning, Corporal Faff attended Corporal’s Course. In March 2005, Corporal Faff deployed with the 26th MEU in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In December 2005, Corporal Faff transferred to the Individual Ready Reserves.
 
In September 2007, Sergeant Faff transferred to the Select Marine Corps Reserve, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, Company B, mobilized and deployed to Iraq as a Squad Leader in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning Sergeant Faff was billet promoted to Platoon Sergeant. In November 2009, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and Platoon Commander. In July 2010, he completed Career Course.
 
In December 2010, Staff Sergeant Faff transferred to the Camp Lejeune IMA Det and reported to II Marine Expeditionary Force, II Marine Headquarters Group as the Assistant Training Chief.
 
In March 2012, Staff Sergeant Faff transferred the Select Marine Corps Reserve and reported to 2nd Battalion 25th Marines, Company E, as a Platoon Sergeant. He mobilized with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force 13.2 Africa as an Assistant Team Chief for a Security Cooperation Team, in Camp Singo, Uganda, and a Watch Officer at the US Embassy Tripoli, Libya. After the mobilization he returned to 2nd Battalion 25th Marines, Company E. In June 2014, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.
 
In November 2014, he transferred to the Wounded Warrior Battalion-East, Company A, as a Section Leader.  In March 2015, he transferred to the Landstuhl Detachment, at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany as the SNCOIC. In July 2017, he completed Advanced Course. 
 
In May 2018, he was assigned to 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Military Police Company B, as the Company First Sergeant.  In July 2018, he completed First Sergeant's Course.  In December 2018, he attended the Reserve First Sergeant Symposium, New Orleans, LA.  In August 2019, Company B supported OCONUS exercise Eager Lion in Jordan.  In January 2021, First Sergeant Faff completed the E-8 Western Regional Seminar.
 
In May 2021, First Sergeant Faff was assigned to 3rd Battalion 25th Marines, Company I, as the Company First Sergeant.  In July 2021, Company I supported Integrated Training Exercise 4-21 aboard Twentynine Palms, CA.  In May 2022, Company I supported OCONUS exercise Tradewinds 22 in Belize.
 
In June 2022, Sergeant Major Faff assumed his current post as the Battalion Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Battalion 25.
 
Sergeant Major Faff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business from the Virginia Military Institute in May 2010.
 
Sergeant Major Faff's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon w/ one gold star, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
