Major B.A. Burgeson grew up in Spearfish, South Dakota.  After graduating high school in 1998, he attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in Finance/Economics. In 2003, he reported to MCRD San Diego, California for Marine Corps Recruit Training.  Upon graduating Recruit Training, Combat Training, and Communications School, he earned MOS designations as a Field Radio Operator (0621) / Multi-Channel Radio Operator (0622) and was assigned to 5th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, California.  In 2005, he deployed to Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and was attached to 1st Battalion, 5th Marines in Ramadi, Iraq.

 In 2005, Corporal Burgeson reported to Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant under the Officers Candidate Course. In September 2005, Second Lieutenant Burgeson attended The Basic School (TBS) in Quantico, Virginia.  Following TBS, he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 11 (Reinforced), Miramar, California, for on the job training (OJT) while he waited to start Naval Supply Corps School, Athens, Georgia.

Upon graduation from Supply Corps School, he reported to Marine Aircraft Group 16, Miramar, California for duty as an Aviation Supply Officer. While Assigned to MAG-16, Captain Burgeson completed aircrew training and received his CH-53E aircrew wings with HMH-462.  From December 2006 to June 2009, Captain Burgeson was assigned to MAG-16 as the Group Fiscal Officer and MALS-16 as the Squadron Support, Supply Accounting and Supply Response Division Officer. In 2008, he deployed with HMM-165 (Reinforced) as the ACE for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) aboard the USS Peleliu (LHA-5). 

In July 2009, Captain Burgeson was assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps H-1 Fleet Integration Team as Deputy Director of Logistics. He earned his Defense Acquisition Workforce certification in Lifecycle Logistics (Level II) and Program Management (Level I).  In August 2011, Captain Burgeson was discharged from the Marine Corps and moved to Wyoming to pursue a Master of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Natural Resource Management.  Concurrently, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve where he was assigned as Supply Officer, Marine Air Control Squadron 23 (MACS-23) at Buckley AFB, Aurora, Colorado.  In January 2013, he joined Readiness Support Program 5 (RSP-5) where he served as Site Officer in Charge, El Paso, Texas. In January 2015, Captain Burgeson joined Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 41 as the Aviation Supply Officer and is currently serving as the Executive Officer.
 
Major Burgeson’s professional military education includes: Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program, Defense Acquisition University Program Management/Lifecycle Logistics Programs and numerous MOS related training courses.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and various other personal and unit awards.

Major Burgeson holds a FAA Private Pilot License.
