First Sergeant Juan Carlos Albarran Jr.
Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
Bravo Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion

First Sergeant Albarran enlisted in the Marine Corps on 14 February 2005. He attended recruit training, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class. After graduating recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Following the completion of MCT, he attended MOS school at Pensacola, Florida, for KC-130 Fixed Wing Aviation Power Plants Mechanic (6226).

In December 2005, First Sergeant Albarran received orders to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as power plants mechanic. In January 2006, during this tour he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and in August 2007, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In July 2008, First Sergeant Albarran was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and executed a lateral move to the Criminal Investigation Division (5821). In March 2010, First Sergeant Albarran received orders to Provost Marshal’s Office, Security Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. In November 2011, he received orders to Military Police Support Company, I Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, for Operation Enduring Freedom. Upon return from deployment in 2012, First Sergeant Albarran was assigned to 1st Law Enforcement Battalion, I Marine Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

In December 2012, First Sergeant Albarran received orders to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California, where he served as a Criminal Investigator and Team Leader on the Maritime Raid Force (MRF). In September 2014, First Sergeant Albarran received orders to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Upon completion of Drill Instructor school, First Sergeant Albarran was assigned to 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Hotel Company, were he served as a Drill Instructor. In September 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Gunny Sergeant and in March 2018, First Sergeant Albarran left active duty and transferred to the USMCR. In May 2018 he attached to, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Detachment 1, and assumed the duties of Senior Enlisted Marine for the detachment.  

In October 2019, First Sergeant Albarran was mobilized and attached to Task Force Southwest, Team Police, where he served as Senior Enlisted Advisor under combat conditions for Enduring Expeditionary Advisor Platform Bost, Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan. In May 2021, First Sergeant Albarran was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and assigned to 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division.

In March 2022, First Sergeant Albarran was attached to Company A, 4th AA Bn and mobilized for a second deployment for Unit Deployment Program (UDP) 22.2, Okinawa Japan. After returning from the UPD First Sergeant Albarran was then attached to Company B. First Sergeant Albarran participated in exercise Intrepid Maven 23.4, for Annual Training, in the CENTCOM area of responsibility.

First Sergeant Albarran’s personal decorations include the Drill Instructor Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal 2nd award, Navy Commendation medal with combat “C” device.
