Biography

 

Major Ancelmo J. Reyes
Commanding Officer
India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Major Ancelmo J. Reyes is a native of Miami, FL. Mayor Reyes enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2003. After completing recruit training and Personnel Administration school, Private First Class Reyes joined Headquarters Company, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 3d Force Service Support Group (FSSG) in 2004. 

In 2005, Corporal Reyes served as the Personnel and Casualty Tracking NCO for Marine Central Command at MacDill AFB, FL and deployed to Bahrain. Upon completion of the tour in 2006, Corporal Reyes received orders to Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Quantico, VA serving as the Recruit Reclassification NCO. During his time in Quantico, Sergeant Reyes was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program in 2008. In 2009, after completing six months training in Newport, RI, Sergeant Reyes was accepted into the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) and attended University of South Florida.

While attending University of South Florida, he went to Officer Candidate School in July 2010. In 2012, Staff Sergeant Reyes was immediately commissioned after graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Second Lieutenant Reyes reported to The Basic School in May 2013. In January 2014, he reported to Fort Sill, OK for Field Artillery Officer Basic Course.

In June 2014, he reported to Sierra Battery, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines serving as the Fire Direction Officer and then as platoon commander. In 2015, First Lieutenant Reyes was attached to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines as a Forward Observer (FO) in the Liaison section. While there, he then chopped to be the Company Fire Support Officer for Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines (3/5) for the Unit Deployment Program (UDP). After returning from the UDP, First Lieutenant Reyes left active duty in July 2016.

In October 2016, First Lieutenant Reyes transitioned to the Select Marine Corps Reserves and joined Battery G, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marines (3/14) as a FO. Captain Reyes then served as Battery Executive Officer, HQ Battery, 3/14 in October 2017. After spending a couple of years in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) Captain Reyes returned to duty in May 2020 as Team Leader, Headquarters Battery, 14th Marine Regiment. While there, Captain Reyes became the Battery Executive Officer. In January  2023, Captain Reyes reported to HQ Battery, 3/14 in Bristol, PA where currently serves as the Battalion FDO. 

In July 2023, Major Reyes is currently serving as Battery Commander, Battery I, 3d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment.

Major Reyes s personal decorations include four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
