First Sergeant Rodney L. Brown Jr.
INSPECTOR-INSTRUCTOR Unit Senior Enlisted Leader
CHARLIE COMPANY, 1ST BATTALION, 25TH MARINES

First Sergeant Brown is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He enlisted and began recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina on 26 January 2005.

Private Brown reported on 11 Apr 2005 to Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion Private First Class Brown reported to Military Occupational Specialty Traffic Management Specialist Course at Fort Eustis, Virginia on 26 May 2005. 
 
Private Brown was promoted to Private First Class on 1 July 2005 and reported to Headquarters Battalion, Headquarters Marine Corps Base Okinawa, Japan on 7 August 2005. 
 
Private First Class Brown was Meritorious promoted to Lance Corporal on 2 December 2005.

While serving at Okinawa, Japan Lance Corporal Brown served as a Range Coach on the Rifle Range. Lance Corporal Brown was promoted to Corporal on 1 July 2007. Corporal Brown served as the Noncommissioned Officer In charge (NCOIC) of the Marksmanship Instructor from 2005 until August 2007 at Okinawa, Japan.

On 1 September 2007 Corporal Brown was ordered to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron Marine Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina. Corporal Brown served as the Household Goods, Unit Deployment Storage NCOIC.

On 10 October 2008 Corporal Brown was ordered to MARCOR Embassy Security School at Quantico, Virginia. Corporal Brown was promoted to Sergeant on 01 April 2009.Upon completion, he reported to MCESG Region 1 Helsinki, Finland on 21 May 2009. On 10 May 2010 was order to MCESG Region 6 Bujumbura, Burundi. On 29 November 2010 was order to MCESG Region 9 Dominican Republic.

On 16 January 2012 Sergeant Brown was ordered Headquarters and Service Battalion Parris Island Beaufort, South Carolina, Sergeant Brown served as the Household Goods, NCOIC Platoon Sergeant. Sergeant Brown served as Deport Color Sergeant from 01 February 2012 to 29 May 2014. Sergeant Brown was promoted to Staff Sergeant on 01 Apr 2014. On July 2014 served as Operations Chief SNCOIC.

On 22 February 2015 Staff Sergeant Brown was ordered to Headquarters and Service Battalion Marine Corps Base Okinawa, Japan serving as Officer in Charge of Range Operations for fifteen months. On 17 June 2016 serving as Distribution management Specialist SNCOIC.

On 13 March 2017 Staff Sergeant Brown was ordered to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron Marine Air Station Yuma, Arizona serving as Distribution management Specialist SNCOIC. Staff Sergeant Brown was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on 01 July 2018.

On 1 Jan 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Brown was ordered to NAVSUP, NAVCENT Bahrain. He served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Fleet Marine Officer and NAVSUP FLC Beach Detachment Distribution Chief.

On 1 March 2022 Gunnery Sergeant Brown was deployed with 5th Marine Regiment in support of MRF-D Darwin Australia. 
 
On 1 November 2022 assigned as the S-3 Training Chief for 1st Supply Battalion, 1stMarine Logistics Group. He was frocked to his current rank on 1 January 2024.
 
First Sergeant Brown currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader for Company C, 1st Battalion, 25th
Marines in Buffalo, New York.
 
First Sergeant Brown's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two gold stars in lieu of 3th award), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four gold stars in lieu of 5th award).
