First Sergeant Jeremy E. Campbell
Unit Senior Enlisted Leader

First Sergeant Campbell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January of 2004. After completion of Recruit Training, Marine Combat Training, Airframe Mechanic Structural School, and the Pioneer UAV Course, he reported to Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1 (VMU-1) in Twentynine Palms, CA in August 2005. That same month, he deployed to Al Taqaddum, Iraq. First Sergeant Campbell would deploy two more times to Al Taqaddum in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2008. While at VMU-1, First Sergeant Campbell became a Plane Captain, Collateral Duty Inspector, Shop Supervisor, and Martial Arts Instructor.

Leaving active duty, First Sergeant Campbell joined the Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 4 (VMU-4) as the first and only reserve Unmanned aerial systems maintainer and helped to stand up the unit during its move from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ to Camp Talega, Camp Pendleton, CA. During this time, he re-certified in all previously held qualifications, attended every field exercise from March 2011 to July 2015, to include Integrated Training Exercises, Weapons and Tactics Instructor Courses, numerous Speedbag events.

Upon completing his Bachelor of Business Administration in February 2015, he sought further opportunities in the Marine Corps and mobilized with Wounded Warrior Battalion East (WWBN-East) in September 2015. There he performed as a Section Leaders for wounded, ill, and injured service members and became the Lead Section Leader Trainer. He was promoted in billet and rank and worked as the Platoon Commander for First Platoon, Bravo Company. First Sergeant Campbell supported the care and recovery of hundreds of recovering servicing members and served as a Uniformed Victim Advocate while at WWBN-East.  

In September 2018, First Sergeant Campbell de-mobilized and joined Deployment Processing Command/Reserve Support Unit East (DPC/RSU-East) as an individual mobilization augmentee (IMA). He worked with Alpha Company to run ranges, conduct classes, and supervise training evolutions for Marines and Sailors preparing to deploy. After a year working as an IMA, he was mobilized to manage facilities and perform as the project manager for major renovation projects occurring on four buildings used to support the mission of DPC/RSU-East. During his time at DPC/RSU-East, he also simultaneously took on the role as Operations Chief.

In 2021, he was selected to First Sergeant and de-mobilized later that year to join 1st Battalion, 25th Marines as the Headquarters and Service Company Senior Enlisted advisor. First Sergeant Campbell continues to serve in this role and plans to continue serving in the United States Marine Corps for years to come.

For his civilian job, First Sergeant Campbell works as a Recovery Care Coordinator for Wounded Warrior Regiment out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with Wounded Warrior Battalion East. There he supports recovering service members and their families who are working through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System process as they transition back to full duty, or out of the armed forces. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University.

While deployed PFC Campbell was promoted to Lance Corporal (LCpl) on 1 December 2005. LCpl Corporal Campbell would deploy two more times to Iraq with VMU-1 from 2006 - 2008. During this time, he was promoted to Corporal (Cpl) and then Sergeant (Sgt), attended numerous aviation-related courses and qualified as a Plane Captain and a Collateral Duty Instructor on both the RQ-2B Pioneer and the RQ-7B Shadow. After completing his third deployment, Sgt Campbell attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor Course and certified as an instructor in February 2010.

In May 2010, Sgt Campbell transfered to the Inactive Ready Reserve. On 30 March 2011, Sgt Campbell joined VMU-4 as the first participating reserve 6314 in the Marine Corps. Sgt Campbell was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma, Arizona and was promoted to Staff Sergeant (SSgt) on 1 May 2013. In December 2013, SSgt Campbell moved along with VMU-4 to Camp Pendleton, California. On 7 September 2015, SSgt Campbell mobilized with Wounded Warrior Battalion East (WWBn-E) aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as a Section Leader for wounded, ill, and injured Marines and Sailors. SSgt Campbell was promoted in billet to Platoon Commander and promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) on 1 November 2017.

Upon completing his tour of three years with WWBn-E, GySgt Campbell transfered to Deployment Processing Command Reserve Support Unit East (DPC/RSU-E) as a part of the Individual Mobilization Augmentee Detachment and filled an Operations Chief Position. GySgt Campbell mobilized again as a Facility Project Manager and Operations Chief with DPC/RSU-E for two years. In September 2021, GySgt Campbell was frocked to 1stSgt and attached to Headquarters and Service Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines in Ft. Devens, Massachusetts where he currently serves.

1stSgt Campbell's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award. 1stSgt Campbell has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Project Management from National University. His civilian employment is as a Recovery Care Coordinator for Wounded Warrior Regiment aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
