Biography

 

Captain Kyle R. Bish
COMMANDING OFFICER
CHARLIE CO., 1ST BATTALION, 25TH MARINE REGIMENT

Captain Kyle R. Bish was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in May of 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology. In August of 2015 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.

After completing The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course, Second Lieutenant Bish reported to Kilo Company 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. His first assignment was as 2nd Platoon Commander. In February of 2017 he transferred to Charlie Company 1st Battalion, 25th Marines, where he was assigned 1st Platoon Commander.

In October of 2018, Lieutenant Bish was assigned Weapons Platoon Commander within Charlie Company 1st Battalion, 25th Marines and subsequently deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of UDP 20.1. Upon returning from UDP 20.1 Captain Bish assumed the role of Executive Officer, Weapons Company in June 2020.

In June of 2021, Captain Bish assumed command of Weapons Company until December 2021. Following the arrival of a new Weapons Company Commander, he transitioned to serve as the company Executive Officer. He graduated the Expeditionary Warfighting School in May of 2022.

Captain Bish transferred to Charlie Company in August of 2022, assuming the post of Company Commander, where he currently serves.

He holds a Pennsylvania Act 120 certification from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In his civilian career, Captain Bish is employed as a Police Officer for the City of DuBois, Pennsylvania. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
