Sergeant Major Magurno completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, SC in March 1995 and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class. He was subsequently assigned to MCLB Albany, GA for Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment School for training as a Precision Measurement Equipment (PME) Technician.
In June 1996, Lance Corporal Magurno received orders to Marine Aviation Logistic Squadron (MALS) 39, MAG-39, 3rd MAW Camp Pendleton, CA.
In May 1997, Lance Corporal Magurno was attached to Marine Aviation Logistic Squadron 36, MAG 36, 1st MAW as part of the unit deployment from May 1997 until May 1998. During his assignment to MALS 36 he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal in September 1997.
In January 1999, Cpl Magurno completed his active duty enlistment and transferred to the Marine Corps Reserves and was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 49, MAG-49, 4th MAW .
In May 2005, Staff Sergeant Magurno was augmented to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Over his assignments to MALS 49 he held the billets of PME Technician, Collateral Duty Inspector, Quality Assurance Representative, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, MCMAP Instructor Trainer and Squadron Gunnery Sergeant.
In May 2011, First Sergeant Magurno was assigned as the Company First Sergeant for Company C, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines and deployed to Afghanistan in September 2011 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. First Sergeant Magurno. Upon return from deployment First Sergeant Magurno remained in place during FSRG and assumed the duties of Company First Sergeant for Company F, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines.
In May 2015 Sergeant Major Magurno assumed his current assignment as Marine Wing Support Squadron 472 Sergeant Major.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (w/four gold stars in lieu of 5th award).
