Sergeant Major Everton A. Hart
Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader
3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Sergeant Major Hart is a native of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. He entered the Marine Corps on 22 September 2003, and went through Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina.  Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina.  After graduation from MCT, he was sent to Marine Corps Motor Transportation School, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he was trained as a Motor Vehicle Operator.

After graduation from his MOS school, Sergeant Major Hart was sent to Okinawa Japan for duty with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, where he served for three years. While in Okinawa Japan he was attached to 2nd FSSG, Military Police Detachment to conduct convoy security in Iraq. In November 2006, Sergeant Major Hart was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Sergeant Major Hart extended with 9th ESB and returned to Iraq for the second time where he held the billet of Motor Transportation NCO for the Road Repair Crew. 

Upon returning from Iraq in March 2007, he received orders to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Quantico, VA. Sergeant Major Hart was promoted to Sergeant in July 2007 and was transferred to the Base Commander’s Office, where he served as the Enlisted Aide and Driver. He held this billet for two and a half years before receiving orders to Marine Security Guard (MSG) School in February 2010. Upon graduation of MSG School, Sergeant Major Hart was transferred to Tallinn, Estonia to serve as a Marine Security Guard. In July 2011, Sergeant Major Hart rotated to Islamabad and took over as Detachment Commander, serving there until April 1, 2012. Sergeant Major Hart was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant on July 2, 2012. Sergeant Major Hart then served as the Detachment Commander for Detachment Colombo, Sri Lanka from December 2012 to March 2013, when he received orders to 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (LAR BN), Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 

While in 2nd LAR BN, Sergeant Major Hart served in numerous billets to include the Operations Chief, Truck Master, Platoon Sergeant, and the Battalion Equal Opportunity Representative. In 2016, Sergeant Major Hart was transferred to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines to serve as the Motor Transport Operations Chief. From September 2016 to May 2017, Sergeant Major Hart served as the Motor Transport Operations Chief for the Forward Deployed Battalion, West 17-1 deployment to the Pacific Theatre. In August 2017, Sergeant Major Hart was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He then participated in the 13th MEU deployment with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, where he served as the Operations Chief and the Company Gunnery Sergeant for the USS Anchorage. 
              
Sergeant Major Hart joined 1st Transportation Support Battalion in May 2019. There he served as the Battalion Training Chief until July 2020 when he became the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Bravo Company. In June 2021, Sergeant Major Hart was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and began serving as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant for 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, Company B in Jacksonville Florida. In January 2024 Sergeant Major Hart was frocked to his current rank and is currently serving as 3rd Battalion 14th Marines Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major in Bristol Pennsylvania. 

Sergeant Major Hart’s awards include:  Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/3 Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/1 Gold Stars. Iraqi Campaign Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal w/5 Bronze Stars
