Biography

 

Major Mataya L. Glover
Executive Officer, Marine Air Support Squadron 6

Major Mataya L. Glover currently serves as the Site Support Marine Air Control Group 48 Chicopee Site Commander, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing Aviation, Marine Forces Reserve.  

Maj Glover is a native of Deadwood, South Dakota and raised in Rush, Colorado.  She enlisted in the Air Force Reserves in February 2005, after graduation from Ellicott High School (Ellicott, Co), she reported to Air Force Basic, Lackland Air Force Base May 24, 2005.

After graduating from Air Force Basic as Airman First Class Glover, she attended aerospace medical service training, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas then reported to the 302nd Airlift Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. Where she graduated from Colorado State University in May of 2008, and in Oct 2008, she was activated and deployed to Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility at Joint Base Balad, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. 

In August of 2009 SSgt Glover was selected to attend Marine Corps Officer Candidate and was commissioned in December 2009.  2nd Lieutenant Glover then reported to The Basic School where she was selected to attend the Air Defense Control Officers course at Twenty Nine Palms, California.  

In November 2010, 2nd Lieutenant Glover reported to Tactical Air Operations Center, Marine Air Control Squadron 4, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Futenma, Okinawa Japan, where she served as an Air Defense Control Officer.  In August 2012 1st Lieutenant Glover deployed to the 609th Combat Air Operations Center, Al Udeid, Qatar where she served as the Joint Interface Control Cell Watch Officer.  

In December 2013 Captain Glover reported to Tactical Air Operations Center, Marine Air Control Squadron 1, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Yuma, Arizona where she served as an Air Defense Control Officer, Adjutant, Legal Officer, and Weapons Tactics and Techniques Programs Officer.  In February 2014 she deployed with Marine Aircraft Group 50 2-13 Sheikh Isa Air Base, Bahrain as an Air Watch Officer.

In August 2016 Capt Glover reported to 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.  She served as a Series Commander Company N from 2016-2018.  October of 2018 she became Headquarters Company Commander and Operations Officer for 4th Recruit Training Battalion, in May 2019 she became the Executive Officer for 4th Recruit Training Battalion.   

Maj Glover’s personal decorations include the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th Award).
