Biography

 

Lieutenant Colonel Blake Jackson

A native of Rahway, New Jersey, Lieutenant Colonel Blake Jackson received his commission from Norwich University - The Military College of Vermont.  Upon graduating from The Basic School and Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson reported to 5th Battalion, 10th Marines where he deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as a Security Platoon Commander for an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team.

From March 2008 to September 2008, he deployed to Iraq with 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines as a Convoy Security Platoon Commander then as Battery Executive Officer from redeployment to May 2009.  

From June 2009 to June 2012, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson was assigned to 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company.  He deployed in 2010 in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller and Firepower Control Team Leader.  In 2011 he assumed the role of Supporting Arms Liaison Team Leader and deployed in support of 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

From July 2013 to July 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson was assigned to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines.  In 2013 he took command of Battery G and deployed with Battalion Landing Team 2/5 in support of the 31st MEU.  Upon his return, he was assigned as Assistant Operations Officer, then as 2/5 Battalion Fire Support Officer.  In January 2015, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson served as the Fires and Effects Coordinator for Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Central Command and deployed in support OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.  He then served as Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 2d Battalion, 11th Marines.

From July 2017 to July 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Jackson served as a Faculty Advisor and a Course Director at Marine Corps University - Expeditionary Warfare School.

From July 2020 to June 2022, he was assigned to 10th Marines and served as 2d Marines Assistant Fire Support Coordinator followed by duty as the Regimental Operations Officer for 10th Marines.

Lieutenant Colonel Jackson holds a Master of Military Studies from Marine Corps Command and Staff College (Distinguished Graduate). He is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Tactical Air Control Party Course, Fire Support Coordination Center Course, Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit Staff Planning Course, and Expeditionary Warfare School.
