Military Saves Week 2017

2 Feb 2017 | Lance Cpl. Dallas Johnson U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve

Marine administrative message 014/17 announces this year’s annual Military Saves Week, Feb. 27-March 4, 2017. MSW is an initiative to encourage Marines and their families to focus on financial readiness, reduce debt, and boost savings.

This is an important year to focus on savings as a large portion of Marines will have the  choice to opt into the new Blended Retirement System starting Jan. 1, 2018.

Commanders are encouraged to show support for financial readiness by signing a command proclamation in support of Military Saves events. Marines and families are encouraged to take the “Saver Pledge” at www.militarysaves.org and to start saving a little each month.

Additional Military Saves campaign and financial information is available from your unit Command Financial Specialists, installation Personal Financial Management staff and online at www.militarysaves.org.
