Marine administrative message 051/14 announced the dates for the resident enlisted professional military education courses for Reserve sergeants, staff sergeants and gunnery sergeants during fiscal year 2014. All applicants must be nominated by their unit and submit a nomination package to be reviewed by their unit commander or inspector-instructor.

All nominees must be in a full-duty status, meet prerequisites as outlined in NAVMC 11580 command screening checklist, be PME complete and possess all required uniforms prior to reporting to the director of staff noncommissioned officer academy, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., for their respective two-week resident course.

Applicants must also be medically certified to participate in a progressive physical readiness program and must have the qualifying documents signed by an independent duty corpsman or accredited physical health care provider within 90 days of the course report date.

Unit commanders or inspector-instructors are required to review all nomination packages and sign the command screening checklist within 90 days of the course report date.  Checklists signed by individuals other than the unit commander or inspector-instructor will be rejected and result in the Marine's return to their unit.  Failure to properly complete the command screening checklist or sending unqualified Marines will result in a letter of noncompliance via the chain of command.

Active Reserve Marines and Marines on partial mobilization orders are not authorized to attend Reserve PME courses under any circumstance.
