Reserve officers eligible for aviation selection board

Maradmin 565/14 announced fiscal year 2015 4th Marine Aircraft Wing Operational Support Aircraft Aviation Selection Board. The board will fill selected Marine Corps billets at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, or Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, Louisiana. The board is scheduled to convene Dec. 10, 2014.

To be eligible for the board, captains and majors must have less than 16 satisfactory years credit toward a reserve retirement as of May 31, 2015 and be able to complete 18 years within 24 years of commissioned service. Lieutenant colonels may not have a mandatory removal date earlier than June 1, 2019. Active component aviators must have less than 15 years active serve and establish an end of active service or affiliate with the Marine Transport Squadron no later than May 31, 2015. All aviators are required to have a minimum of 1,000 flight hours.

Marines who meet the requirements can submit a package which must include a 4th MAW application for membership in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, a recent photo taken within the last calendar year, a current copy of their master brief sheet, a reserve qualification summary and all fitness reports.

Applicants must submit a digital copy of the package to OMB_4thMAW_CMD@USMC.mil no later than Dec. 3, 2014. If it is not possible to send a digital copy, hard copies of the package must arrive at the 4th MAW no later than Dec. 3, 2014.

Marines who are selected for the program are obligated to complete a minimum of four years after completion of civilian approved contractor training also known as the training and readiness core skill introduction phase.
