Captain Haynes is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the United States Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a commission in the United States Marine Corps in 2016.
Upon graduation from The Basic School and the Infantry Officers Course, Captain Haynes reported to 3d Battalion, 1st Marines in 2017. He was assigned as a Rifle Platoon Commander and deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2018. Following his return from deployment, he served as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander and later as the Assistant Operations Officer.
From June 2020 to September 2022 Captain Haynes attended the Naval Postgraduate School where he graduated with a Master of Science in Computer Science and completed the Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program. He then reported to the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) in October 2022 where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer.
Following his tour at MCTSSA in May 2024, Captain Haynes reported to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines and took command of Alpha Company.
After a successful tour he reported to 1st Battalion, 24th Marines and took command as the Inspector-Instructor for Bravo Company.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and the Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
