First Sergeant Glotzbecker is a native of Geneva, Ohio. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 22 January 2008. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina. After graduating Recruit Training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Following completion of MCT he attended MOS school at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, for Basic Motor Transportation Operator.
In June 2008, First Sergeant Glotzbecker received orders to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division Twenty-nine Palms California, where he served as a Wrecker Operator. In December 2008 he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. In 2009, First Sergeant Glotzbecker was promoted to the rank of Corporal and served as the NCOIC of the Wrecker section.
In 2010, First Sergeant Glotzbecker received orders to Company A, 1st Tank Battalion, 3rd Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB), and deployed to Marjah, Afghanistan on a route clearance mission. While there he performed the duties of a Motor Transportation Operator, Gunner, and V-Sweep security. Once he returned, he received orders to Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) Indian Head, Maryland.
In 2011, First Sergeant Glotzbecker served as a licensing examiner for the Battalion and was assigned to Incident Response Force (IRF) Alpha. In August 2012 First Sergeant Glotzbecker was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and served as the Licensing Chief. Also, while serving with IRF Alpha, First Sergeant Glotzbecker supported over 25 deployments across the United States along with several Presidential events to include the 2012 Presidential inauguration and 2013 Republican Democratic convention. In 2013, First Sergeant Glotzbecker was assigned as the Motor Transportation Platoon Sergeant.
First Sergeant Glotzbecker attended Drill Instructor School class 3-14 in 2014, at MCRD San Diego. After graduating, First Sergeant Glotzbecker was assigned to 2nd Recruit training Battalion, Hotel Company. First Sergeant Glotzbecker severed as Drill Instructor for six cycles. During this time, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant meritoriously in January 2016, after which he completed a Senior Drill Instructor cycle with Hotel Company. Later, First Sergeant Glotzbecker was assigned to Support Battalion April 2016, as a Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival.
In 2017, he received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 8, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. First Sergeant Glotzbecker severed as a Platoon Sergeant, Platoon Commander, and Company Gunnery Sergeant. In 2018, he deployed to Ghana Africa and Sigonella Sicily on SPMAGTF Crisis Response 19.1. As the Company Gunnery Sergeant and Support Platoon SNCOIC. First Sergeant Glotzbecker was promoted in February 2019 to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Upon his return, First Sergeant Glotzbecker received orders to Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI) duty in 2020, at the University of Nebraska.
First Sergeant Glotzbecker served as the AMOI for the University of Nebraska. During his time, he trained over 200 Marine Officers at Marine Corps Base Quantico as a Sergeant Instructor and Physical fitness Instructor. First Sergeant Glotzbecker molded and trained 170 Marine Officers and 35 Naval Officers while serving as the AMOI.
In July 2023, he last reported to MWSS-471, Detachment Bravo, where he was officially promoted to First Sergeant 1 August. Currently, he serves as the Site First Sergeant for the Engineer Detachment.
First Sergeant Glotzbecker’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal x2, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal x3, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
