Sergeant Major David H. Caero
Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader
Combat Logistics Battalion 25

 Sergeant Major Caero reported to Company H, 2D Recruit Training Battalion, MCRD Parris Island, SC for training on 19 November 1996.  He was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class and upon graduation and attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, Jacksonville, NC.  Upon completion he was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal and attended initial MOS School for Aviation Support Equipment at NAS Pensacola, FL, and “C” School at NAS North Island, Coronado, CA.  He was designated the Military Occupational Specialty of 6072, Aviation Support Equipment Mechanic.

In March 1998, Lance Corporal Caero reported to Marine Aviation Logistic Squadron 31, MCAS Beaufort, SC, for duty as a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic.  From March 1998 to April 2003, he completed two unit deployments to Iwakuni, Japan, once with MALS-31 and the other as the Squadron Representative for VMFA-122.  He also participated in Operations Allied Force and Noble Anvil in Taszar, Hungary as a MAG-31 augment during operations in Kosovo.  During this time period he was promoted to the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant.

In April 2003, Sergeant Caero reported to Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21, NAS Pensacola, FL for duty as an “A” School Instructor.  From April 2003 to February 2006, he served as an Instructor, Barracks Troop Handler, Squadron Safety Representative, and Medical Liaison.  During this time he attended the Career Course, was certified as a Martial Arts Instructor, and promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

In February 2006, Staff Sergeant Caero reported to Recruiter School, MCRD San Diego, CA.  Upon graduation he was assigned to 1st Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station New Jersey.

In June 2006, Staff Sergeant Caero reported for duty as a Canvassing Recruiter, 1st Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station New Jersey.  From June 2006 to September 2007, he served as a Canvassing Recruiter for RSS Elizabeth.  Staff Sergeant Caero was then selected to be the NCOIC for RSS Bloomingdale and held that duty from September 2007 until June of 2009.

In June 2009, after completing a successful tour on Recruiting Duty, Staff Sergeant Caero reported for duty with the Presidential Support Squadron, Marine Helicopter Squadron One, MCB Quantico, VA.  From June of 2009 to August 2012, he served as the Division Chief for the Support Equipment Division, Training Chief, and Squadron Gunnery Sergeant.  During this time period he attended the Advanced Course, Basic Airborne Course, and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

From August 2012 to April 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Caero was assigned to the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Quantico, VA as a Faculty Advisor for the Career Course.  During that time frame he was selected as the Faculty Advisor of the Year for 2013 and 2014, and was nominated for the Elihu Rose Award for Teaching Excellence.  He held the billets of Master Faculty Advisor, Chief Faculty Advisor, Physical Training Instructor and Martial Arts Instructor Trainer.

From April 2015 to June 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Caero was assigned to the Martial Arts Center of Excellence for duty as the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge.  During this time promoted to his current rank of First Sergeant.

In June of 2016, First Sergeant reported to Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28, Cherry Point, NC for Duty as the Bravo Company First Sergeant.  From June 2016 to March 2019 he served as the Bravo Company First Sergeant, MTACS-28 Sergeant Major and the MACS 2 Sergeant Major. 

First Sergeant Caero reported to 2D Battalion 11th Marines, Camp Pendleton, CA in May of 2019  and served as the Battery First Sergeant for Headquarters and Battery F.  He was frocked to his current rank in June of 2020 and served as the Battalion Sergeant Major until January 2022.

In February of 2022 Sergeant Major Caero assumed his current duties as the Inspector Instructor Sergeant Major for Combat Logistics Battalion 25, Red Bank, NJ.

Sergeant Major Caero’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold star in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal with bronze star in lieu of second award.  He is also authorized to wear the Presidential Service Badge, Basic Parachutist Insignia and is a Sixth Degree Martial Arts Instructor Trainer..
