First Sergeant Brian C. Fitzgerald

First Sergeant Fitzgerald is a native to Wilmington, Vermont. After graduating Wilmington high school in June of 1999, First Sergeant Fitzgerald enlisted in the Marine Corps in August and graduated 2nd recruit training battalion in February of 2000.  Following basic training, First Sergeant Fitzgerald attended the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, NC and was then assigned to Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion 7th Marine Regiment in 29 Palms, CA. During his tour he served as a rifleman, automatic rifleman, team leader, squad leader, and platoon sergeant.  In 2001 First Sergeant Fitzgerald deployed to Okinawa, Japan as a part of a unit deployment.  Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion 7th Marines was ordered to attach to Landing Force Combined Afloat Readiness And Training aboard the USS Rushmore.  During that deployment the unit and traveled through Southeast Asia and trained with military's throughout.
In March of 2002 First Sergeant Fitzgerald was recognized as 3rd Battalion 7th Marines Marine of the Quarter and was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Corporal on June 2nd 2002.
In January 2003 First Sergeant Fitzgerald was ordered to Kuwait for preparation of the invasion of Iraq and as a squad leader, he led his Marines into combat during the initial stage of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
On December 21st 2009 First Sergeant Fitzgerald reenlisted into the Select Marine Corps Reserve and was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion 25th Marine Regiment in Plainville, CT where he was assigned as a Platoon Sergeant.
On May 1st 2011 First Sergeant Fitzgerald was deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan and served as Platoon Sergeant and conducted the relief in place with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment aboard FOB Marjah, Afghanistan.
Upon return from Afghanistan, First Sergeant Fitzgerald received orders to Logistical Base Albany, GA where he was assigned as a Military Police Officer.
In 2016 First Sergeant Fitzgerald attended the Reserve Infantry Platoon Sergeants Course at the School of Infantry West.  
In April 2018 First Sergeant Fitzgerald was meritoriously promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.  
January 4th 2019 First Sergeant Fitzgerald received orders to Security Force Company, Task Force Southwest 19.2 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
January 2020 ,  First Sergeant Fitzgerald was assigned to the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, 7th Naval Construction Battalion, Gulfport, MS where he was assigned as the Regimental Military advisor for Navy Seabees.
October 2021 to April 2022 First Sergeant Fitzgerald served with Headquarters Company, 25th Marine Regiment as the Assistant Operation Chief and Security Platoon leader for the Regiment.
First Sergeant Fitzgerald was selected to the rank of First Sergeant in March of 2022 and was promoted April 2022.  
May 2022 First Sergeant Fitzgerald checked in to Dayton, Ohio to serve as the Company First Sergeant for Military Police Company “C”.
As a civilian First Sergeant Fitzgerald works as an equipment operator for Supreme Industries under the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 104.  His duties include running forestry equipment to build temporary and permanent access roads with wooden matting, or gravel type material for lineman to reach the electrical poles with various equipment.

First Sergeant Fitzgerald's personal decorations include, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (x3 gold stars in lieu of fourth award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with “C" device, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
