Sergeant Major David M. Fallon

Sergeant Major Fallon assumed the duties of the Group Sergeant Major, 1st CAG after completing a successful tour as Squadron Sergeant Major, HMLA-775 from May 2018 to May 2022.  Sergeant Major Fallon’s other tours include: Electrical Equipment Repair Specialist, 4th Maintenance BN, October 1997 – May 1998 as well as Administrative Chief, Platoon Sergeant, and Company Gunnery Sergeant of Ammunition Company (-), 4th Supply BN May 1998 – June 2008.  He served as the Senior Administrative Assessor for the MARFORRES Force Readiness Assessment and Assistance Program from June 2008 to June 2011.  From June 2011 to June 2013, as the Acting First Sergeant and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the OpSponsor, he served with the First Naval Construction Division IMA Det. Transferred to HS Co 1/23, he served as Company 1stSgt from June 2013 – Dec 2014 when he was transferred again to C Co, 1/23 to serve as Company First Sergeant until July 2017.

From January 1997 through October 1997, then Recruit Fallon attended Boot Camp at Paris Island, SC, graduating as a PFC. He attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC; and Electrical Equipment Repair School at Court House Bay, NC.  He was then transferred to Maintenance Platoon, Abilene, TX.  In May 1998 then LCpl Fallon was transferred to Ammunition Company(-) 4thSupply Battalion 4th Force Service Support Group, Greenville, South Carolina.  On 2 June 2001, he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal and was again meritoriously promoted to Sergeant on 2 May 2002.  During these periods, he held the following billets: Reserve Community Events Coordinator 2002 – 2004, Marine Corps Ball Coordinator & Chair, Administration Chief 2002 - 2008, Company Historian, Head Quarters Platoon Sergeant 2002 – 2006, and Company Gunnery Sergeant 2006 – 2008.

In February 2003, then Sergeant Fallon was mobilized in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and maintained CONUS to support the mobilization of units within 4th Marine Logistics Group.

In June 2008, as an Administrative Assessor, then Gunnery Sergeant Fallon joined the Force Readiness Assistance and Assessment Program (FRAAP).  He served with the FRAAP until June 201l, leaving as the Senior Administrative Assessor.  In June 2011, with the First Naval Construction Division (1NCD) Individual Mobilization Augmentee Det, he accepted the billet of Acting First Sergeant and Senior Enlisted Marine Advisor to the Operational Sponsor.  He served with 1NCD until June 2013 when he was promoted to First Sergeant and transferred to HS Company, 1st Battalion, 23d Marines.  In December 2014, then First Sergeant Fallon accepted a transfer to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 23d Marines as the Company First Sergeant.  Transferred to Engineer Services Company, Combat Logistics Battalion-23, Combat Logistics Regiment-4, he served as Company First Sergeant from July 2017 to May 2018 when he was promoted to Sergeant Major and assumed the duties as Squadron Sergeant Major, HMLA-775, Marine Air Group-41.  He served with HMLA-775 until May of 2022 when he was relieved and appointed to serve as the Sergeant Major of 1st Civil Affairs Group.

Sergeant Major Fallon’s personal decorations and awards include: (2) Meritorious Service Medal; (1) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal; (2) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal; (1) Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; (3) Certificates of Commendation; (2) Meritorious Masts; (1) Letter of Commendation; (3) Letters of Appreciation.

Sergeant Major Fallon holds an Associate Degree in Management, a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, and Master of Science in Accounting.
