Sergeant Major Davis enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2003 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Upon Completion of recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA and the Basic Engineer Operators School in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, obtaining the Military Occupational Specialty of 1345 Engineer Equipment Operator and was promoted to Private First Class.
In March 2004, Private First Class Davis was assigned to Support Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC. In October 2004, Private First Class Davis was promoted to Lance Corporal. In February 2005, Lance Corporal Davis deployed with Support Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was assigned as a Team Leader with an IED blast site clearance team.
In March 2006, Lance Corporal Davis was promoted to Corporal and assigned the billet of Squad Leader. In February 2007, Corporal Davis deployed with Support Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was assigned the billet of Platoon Sergeant with an IED blast site clearance and route repair team.
In December 2007, Corporal Davis transferred to Inspector-Instructor Duty at Marine Air Control Squadron 24, Detachment A, in Fort Worth, TX and assigned the billet of Section Leader. In March 2008, Corporal Davis was promoted to Sergeant and assigned the billet of Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. Sergeant Davis remained with Marine Air Control Squadron 24, Detachment A, until he separated from active duty in August 2011.
In August 2011, Sergeant Davis was accepted into the Selected Marine Corps Reserves and rejoined Marine Air Control Squadron 24, Detachment A, and assigned the billet of Reserve Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. In July 2012, Sergeant Davis was promoted to Staff Sergeant. Staff Sergeant Davis joined the Individual Ready Reserve in September 2012 until November 2014.
In November 2014, Staff Sergeant Davis was assigned to Detachment 1, Motor Transport Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 453, in Texarkana, TX where he was assigned the billet of Platoon Sergeant. In October 2016, Staff Sergeant Davis was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and was assigned the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant. While serving in this billet, he led Motor Transport Company in three service-level exercises, Mountain Training Exercise 3-16 and 3-19, and Reserve Integrated Training Exercise 4-17. Additionally, he led a platoon in support of humanitarian relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Houston, TX in August 2017.
In July 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Davis was frocked to First Sergeant and assigned as Company First Sergeant, Headquarters Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 45, in Marietta, GA. While serving in this billet, he led Headquarters Company in three service-level exercises, Hydra Strike-21, Hydra Blitz-22, and Hydra Blitz-23.
In August 2023, First Sergeant Davis was assigned as Company First Sergeant, Delta Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, in Knoxville, TN. While serving in this billet, he led Delta Company in two multilateral U.S. Central Command exercises, Bright Star-23 and Eager Lion-24.
In March 2026, First Sergeant Davis was promoted to Sergeant Major and assigned his current billet as Battalion Sergeant Major, 6th Distribution Support Battalion, in Charlotte, NC.
Sergeant Major Davis has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College and a Master of Arts degree in Emergency Management from Georgetown University. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
