Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Gunnery Sergeant McQuinn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 21, 2010. Private McQuinn attended recruit training aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA and graduated September 17, 2010. Private McQuinn then reported to Marine Combat Training on September 28, 2010.Upon completion of Marine Combat Training school on October 26, 2010, Private McQuinn reported to Marine Corps Field Artillery School in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma on October 28, 2010. Upon completion of Artillery School Private First Class McQuinn reported to Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, Oklahoma City, OK as a Field Artillery Cannon Crewman and assigned to 2nd Platoon. Lance Corporal McQuinn reported to High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) Basic course at Ft. Sill, OK in February 20, 2012. Upon completion of HIMARS Basic Course on March 8, 2012 Lance Corporal McQuinn reported back to Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK and assigned as a Launcher Crewman.

In April 2013, Lance Corporal McQuinn was activated with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK, in support of Operation African Lion in Morocco, Africa. Lance Corporal McQuinn was promoted to Corporal in July 2013 and assigned as a Gunner for 2nd Platoon. In April 2016, Corporal McQuinn was activated with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK, in support of operation Balikatan in Manila, Philippines. Corporal McQuinn was promoted to Sergeant in April 2016 and assigned as a Launcher Chief for 2nd Platoon. In February 2017, Sergeant McQuinn was activated with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK, in support of exercise Sapian Rain in Camp Lejeune, NC. Sergeant McQuinn was promoted to Staff Sergeant February 2019 and assigned as a Local Security Chief for 2nd Platoon. In July 2019, Staff Sergeant McQuinn activated with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK, in support of exercise Sentinel Edge in Cold Lake, Canada. In December 2019, Staff Sergeant McQuinn reported to Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Huntsville, AL as a Platoon Sergeant.

In December 2020, Staff Sergeant McQuinn was activated and assigned as the SNCOIC of a HIMARS Platoon attaching to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Force (MEU) 21.1 in support of operation Formidable Shield at Sea Demonstration in Andenes, Norway and Allied Refuge/Freedom Sentinel in Kuwait and returned home on November 21, 2021. On February 5, 2022 Staff Sergeant McQuinn was attached to Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Oklahoma City, OK, UDP 22.2 as 1st Platoon Sergeant. Staff Sergeant McQuinn manifested and built a hybrid platoon from all three platoons within Fox Battery in order to conduct a live-fire operation Resolute Dragon 22 in Hokkaido, Japan, Oct. 1 to 14, 2022 annual exercise designed to strengthen the defense capabilities of the U.S.–Japan Alliance. Upon return to Camp Hansen he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Upon returning home on December 12, 2022 Gunnery Sergeant McQuinn reported back to Kilo Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment and was assigned the Battery Gunnery Sergeant. Upon return Gunnery Sergeant McQuinn has been the Subject Matter Expert and SNCOIC of Rotation 1 Annual Training exercise to Germany, Lithuania and Italy operations during April 30, 2024 to May 28, 2024 and most recently went as Advance Party to Anchorage, Alaska for operation Red Flag June 8 to 26, 2025 and acted as a Liaison Officer for the battery conducting scheme of maneuvers of integration of HIMARS with the US Air Force and Japanese Military aircrafts to support missions during the entirety of the exercise.

Gunnery Sergeant McQuinn's personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, two gold stars in lieu of third award.
