Biography

 

Major Carl D. Beduhn
Inspector-Instructor
Golf Company, 2d Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment

Major Beduhn graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2013. He reported to The Basic School in April 2014 with Delta Company. Upon graduation from The Basic School, Second Lieutenant Beduhn reported to the Military Police Basic Officer Leader's Course (MPBOLC) in November 2014.

Second Lieutenant Beduhn was assigned to 3D Law Enforcement Battalion, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan and was immediately issued orders to augment Camp Kinser Precinct, Marine Corps Base Butler Provost Marshal's Office (PMO). While serving as a Platoon Commander with PMO, Second Lieutenant Beduhn oversaw hundreds of crime scenes and reports both on and off base. He routinely worked bilaterally with host nation law-enforcement.

In May 2015, Second Lieutenant Beduhn was promoted to First Lieutenant, and returned to 3D Law Enforcement Battalion (3D LEBn) in May 2016. He deployed to the Philippines in 2016 as a Platoon Commander, and to South Korea in 2017 as a Company Executive Officer. First Lieutenant Beduhn was promoted to Captain in February 2018 and deployed to Mongolia as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer.
 
In July of 2018, Captain Beduhn executed orders to Tactical Training Exercise Control Group (TTECG) and was assigned as an Infantry Advisor. He achieved several advanced qualifications and responsibilities despite working outside of his Military Occupational Specialty. Upon completion of his tour, Captain Beduhn requested, and was granted a student slot at the Infantry Officer Course (Class 2-21) in Quantico, VA. He graduated Infantry Officer Course in April 2021.

In May of 2021, Captain Beduhn reported to the Army's Maneuver Captain's Career Course and graduated in November 2021.

In December of 2021, Captain Beduhn reported to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines and was assigned command of Company A. Captain Beduhn deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program in December 2022 which included participation in Blue Sea Marine Corps in Taiwan.

In June of 2023, Captain Beduhn returned from UDP, was promoted to Major, and was assigned to 2d Battalion, 24th Marines as Company Instructor-Inspector.

Major Beduhn’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
