Sergeant Major Gerardo C. De Lucia
Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader
5th Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Sergeant Major Gerardo C. De Lucia was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on 9 April 2001, and attended recruit training at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina where he was the Platoon Honor Graduate, and meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. 
Upon completion, he received orders to Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina; and continued his training at Marine Aviation Training Support Squadron-1 (MATSS-1), Meridian, Mississippi where he received the MOS 6672 Aviation Supply Specialist. Following MATSS-1, Lance Corporal De Lucia reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 in Iwakuni, Japan as the supply personnel admin specialist. He deployed to Korea, and in September 2002 was promoted to Corporal. 

In January 2003, Corporal De Lucia reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Camp Pendleton, California where he served as the Supply and Training Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge. During this assignment he became a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, and in July of 2004 was promoted to Sergeant. 

In May 2005, Sergeant De Lucia received orders to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group School Class 4-05. Upon graduating he was assigned to American Embassy Doha, Qatar; American Embassy San Jose Costa Rica, where he served as a Watch-Stander; and American Embassy Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he served as the Assistant Detachment Commander and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in March of 2008.  During his tour he supported a President of the United States (POTUS) visit in Prague, Czech Republic; and Ljubljana, Slovenia. 

In August 2008, Staff Sergeant De Lucia received orders to 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, California where he obtained the primary MOS 0681 Information Security Specialist, and where he served as the Communication Security (COMSEC) Manager for Combat Logistics Regiment 1. 

In December 2011, Staff Sergeant De Lucia reported to Inspector Instructor Duty (I&I), 6th Communication Battalion in Brooklyn, New York, where he served as the COMSEC and Security Manager, and was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in September 2013.

In December 2014, Gunnery Sergeant De Lucia reported to 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan. While assigned there he served as a COMSEC Manager and Immediate Superior in Charge for all COMSEC matters within 3rd MLG. 

In June 2017 he was promoted to First Sergeant, and was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, where he served as the First Sergeant for Golf and Weapons Company. During his tour he served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the landing force aboard the USS Green Bay while deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conducting operations as part of Task Force Kirin in the East China Sea, and completed a second deployment in support SPMAGTF-CR-CC in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. 

In March 2021 First Sergeant De Lucia received orders to Advanced Infantry Training Battalion SOI-W, where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Reconnaissance Training Company.

In February 2022, Sergeant Major De Lucia was promoted to his current rank and is assigned to Site Support, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, Seal Beach, California to serve as Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major De Lucia has a Bachelor's degree in Health Science Education from Touro University (Cum Laude). His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
