CPL SAMANTHA J. PHIPPS 

 


 

Corporal Phipps is from Phoenix, Arizona. She enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on October 19, 2020, and attended Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Upon completion, she reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Pendleton, California and to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for follow on training as a Fuels Specialist (MOS 1391). In May 2021, she returned to Phoenix, AZ, for her End of Active Service and reported to Bulk Fuel Company C for duty as a Shuttle Craft Handler.

Corporal Phipps quickly seized the opportunity to serve as an Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS) Marine for Site Support Phoenix in June 2021 and has continued to serve on ADOS. She assists in directed Supply Section tasks, helps facility funeral honors, maintains accountability of other ADOS Marines, and is the touch point of the Toys for Tots Program to the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Marines. She was meritoriously promoted to her current rank in March 2022.

Corporal Phipps’ personal decorations include the (3) Certificates of Commendation, (1) Meritorious Mast, (1) Letter of Appreciation, recognition as the Battalion Marine of the Quarter and Marine Logistics Group (MLG) Marine of the Quarter for both 3rd and 4th Quarter of Calendar Year 2021. She was also recognized as the Marine Forces Reserve (MFR) Marine of the Year for 2021.
