Sgt. Glen Nathaniel P. Bugarin 

 


 

Sergeant Bugarin is a native of Quezon City, Philippines. He resided at Clark Air Base, Angeles City, Pampanga from 1991- 2002. He attended L’Altra Montessori School in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines from 1994-2002 then transferred to San Clemente High School, San Clemente Tarlac, Philippines in 2003. He graduated from San Clemente High School in March of 2005. In April of 2005 he migrated to San Diego, California with his parents and three younger sisters. Sergeant Bugarin then attended Montgomery High School in August of 2005 before attending Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California on August of 2007 where he completed his Nursing pre-requisites and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in General Education in 2010. Sergeant Bugarin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and underwent recruit training with Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California on July 8, 2013. Upon graduation, Private First Class Bugarin attended Marine Combat Training in Camp Pendleton, California. He graduated in November of 2013 and reported Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to MOS training in Motor Transport Operations.

After completing MOS training, Private First Class Bugarin reported to 4th Medical Battalion (4th Med), Miramar, California in February 2014. While at 4th Med, Lance Corporal Bugarin held the billet of Motor Transport Operator and Truck Master. In September of 2017, Corporal Bugarin was granted the opportunity to attend the Motor Vehicle Recovery course in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon graduation from wrecker’s course, Corporal Bugarin was approved for the 48-month Active Reserve program. He reported to the School of Infantry West (SOI-W) Motor Transport Section, Headquarters and Support Company on November 3, 2017. While at the School of Infantry West, Corporal Bugarin served as the Licensing Non-commissioned officer, Wrecker operator, Command Physical Training Representative, and Squad Leader. In June of 2019, Corporal Bugarin Attended the Martial Arts Instructors Course with 9th Communications Battalion. Upon completion of MAI course, he instructed as a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor at SOI West. He also assisted in the development of the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle course curriculum that was held at the School of Infantry West. He was promoted to Sergeant, Meritoriously, on August 2019.

Sergeant Bugarin attended Sergeant School Seminar in February 2020 and graduated in June 4, 2020. He was then assigned to his present command, Force Headquarters Group, 3d Civil Affairs Group, Great Lakes, Illinois, August 20, 2020. He attended the Marine Advisor course in November of 2020, gaining the Additional Military Occupational Specialty (ADMOS) of Marine Advisor (0570), and in February 2021 gained ADMOS 8056, Hazardous Material/Hazardous Waste after completing the intro to Hazardous Waste Generation and Handling course.

Sergeant Bugarin’s awards include the National Defense Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, (2) Certificates of Commendation, (2) Meritorious Mast, and (2) Letters of Appreciation.
