Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Stephen M. Sarnecky

Lieutenant Colonel Sarnecky was commissioned in the U.S. Marine Corps via the OCC program in December 2000.

Command billets include: Commanding Officer, Battery G, 3d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment and; Headquarters Platoon Commander (Fire Direction Officer), Battery L, 3d Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment.

Operational and Staff Assignments include: MAGTF Fires and Effects Officer, MAGTF Staff Training Program, Training and Education Command; Executive Officer of 3d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment; Headquarters Battery, 3d Battalion 10th Marine Regiment; Recruiting Station New Jersey, Eastern Recruiting Region, Marine Corps Recruiting Command.  Operations Officer of 3d Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment and Recruiting Station New Jersey. Assistant Fires Support Coordinator for 8th Marine Regiment.

Combat and exercise deployments include: Landing Force 6th Fleet, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit; Operation Iraqi Freedom, CJTF-HOA, JTF-Liberia and Theater Security Cooperation Exercise African Lion.

Lieutenant Colonel Sarnecky holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with minors in History and Political Science from Stockton University.  He is a graduate of the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School and Command and Staff College (Distance Education Program).

Personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 2 gold stars and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. 

Lieutenant Colonel Sarnecky resides in the shore area of New Jersey.  He is married with four children.
