ABOUT 

Mountain Warfare Training Exercise (MTX) 2022 sees 1st Battalion, 24th Marines (Reinforced) conducting Mountain Exercise 4-22 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., in order to sustain individual warfighting  proficiency and improve, sustain, and evaluate company-level offensive and defensive tasks as well as battalion-level planning and command and control.

Josh Monroe, a loadmaster from 9th Special Operations Squadron, off loads a Marine Corps M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) from an Air Force MC-130 at Fort Campbell, Ky., March 29, 2018. Marines from Kilo Battery used an Air Force MC-130 to conduct a live-fire raid at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah, flying from Fort Campbell, to Dugway. There, they offloaded and fired four HIMARS missiles, demonstrating a unique capability that will give commanders more options to deal with threats when other options are not appropriate.
