The MFR G-2 facilitates training and manning of intelligence personnel and provides intelligence production support to the Force in order to augment and reinforce the Total Force.

The MFR G-2 is the Senior Intelligence Officer for MFR and OccField Sponsor for AR Intelligence Officers and Enlisted.

G-2X: Counterintelligence matters.

Co-Located with Intelligence Support Battalion (ISB), the G-2 and ISB enjoy a mutually supporting relationship. The G-2 also provides support and advice to the Major Subordinate Commands.

The G2X is responsible to the MARFORRES G-2, and MARFORRES Commander, for the planning, direction, and execution of CI/HUMINT support to exercises and real world operations. In addition, the G2X is responsible for coordination and liaison with external Counter Intelligence and Human Intelligence organizations, provides CI/HUMINT Oversight to the CI/HUMINT personnel within MARFORRES, and serves as the advisor to the G-2 in CI/HUMINT tactical to Force level matters.

MISSION: MFR G-2 Operations assists the Commander MFR, MFR Staff as well as the MSCs and their subordinate commands in the creation and production of intelligence products in support of operational and training requirements. Additionally, MFR G-2 Operations manages all requests for information (RFIs) from force level units and MFR MSC's and serves as the conduit into the intelligence community necessary to satisfy validated requirements.
