Executive Officer, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 764 Lieutenant Colonel Bradley Fessler

Following his commission as a 2ndLt in May 1999, LtCol Fessler completed The Basic School in January 2000 and reported to NAS Pensacola for flight training.  He earned his wings in January 2002 after flying T-34s with VT-28 and TH-57s with HT-8. He then reported to MCAS Camp Pendleton for further training in the CH-46E Fleet Replacement Squadron, HMM(T)-164.  After completing the FRS in August 2002, LtCol Fessler was assigned to HMM-165 at MCAS Miramar, San Diego.

While attached to the “White Knights” of HMM-165, LtCol Fessler served as the Ground Training Officer, Current Operations Officer, and Aviation Safety Officer.  During this tour he completed three combat deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, directly in 2003, and again in 2005 and 2007 as a member of the reinforced Aviation Combat Element for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.  LtCol Fessler also supported Operation Unified Assistance in 2005, the humanitarian effort in Indonesia and Sri Lanka following a devastating Indian Ocean tsunami.

In August 2008, LtCol Fessler was assigned to MAG-46, where he served as the Aviation Safety Officer and Director of Safety and Standardization until the unit was decommissioned.  In September of 2009, LtCol Fessler left active duty, but immediately accessed to the reserve component as a CH-46E pilot with the “Moonlighters” of HMM-764.  There he supported Partnership of the Americas in Peru and Operation Mojave Viper in Twentynine Palms, California.  With HMM-764, he performed roles as the Flight Line Officer and Quality Assurance Officer.

LtCol Fessler began transition training for the MV-22 in September 2012.  He completed the transition in December 2012 and was assigned to VMM-764 upon the re-designation of the squadron.  During this time, LtCol Fessler attended non-resident Command and Staff College at MCAS Miramar.  Prior to assuming the Executive Officer role, he served as the Logistics Officer and the Reserve Aviation Maintenance Officer while the squadron supported the Marine Aircraft Group 41 Battle Staff ACE Integration Training Exercise, two Integrated Training Exercises, and UNITAS Amphibious Exercise 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

As a civilian, LtCol Fessler works for Honeywell Aerospace as a Senior Product Marketing Manager.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Duke University, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
