Biography

 

Major Nicholas D. Peltier
INSPECTOR-INSTRUCTOR
CHARLIE COMPANY, 1ST BATTALION, 25TH MARINES

Nicholas Peltier is a native of Albion, Michigan.  Upon graduation from Eastern Michigan University in April 2011, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and attended The Basic School from June to December 2011.  Upon graduation, Second Lieutenant Peltier attended Infantry Officers Course from January to March 2012.  Upon graduation, Second Lieutenant Peltier was assigned to Third Battalion, Sixth Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune North Carolina.  
 
He served as a Rifle Platoon Commander, Company L, from April 2012 through September 2013 and deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of the Unit Deployment Program from January 2013 to August 2013. Upon his return from deployment First Lieutenant Peltier attended Advanced Mortarman Course from September 2013 to November 2013.  Upon graduation, he was assigned as the Weapons Platoon Commander, Company L, from November 2013 to August 2015.  As a Weapons Platoon Commander, he deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/6, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit from December 2014 to July 2015.
 
In September 2015 Captain Peltier executed orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. He was assigned as the Force Preservation Officer for the Depot from October 2015 to November 2015. Captain Peltier was then transferred to First Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina where he served as Follow Series Commander, Company D, Executive Officer and Company Commander,  Company A and Battalion Operations Officer.
 
In October 2018 Captain Peltier reported to First Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division as the Assistant Operations Officer. From November to December 2018 Capt Peltier deployed in support of the Southwest Border mission as part of Task Force-East, SPMAGTF-7.  Upon returning from the Southwest Border mission, Captain Peltier was assigned as the Company Commander, Company A.  Captain Peltier served as Company Commander, Company A from January 2019 to January 2020, deploying as part of SPMAGTF-CR-CC 19.2 to Al-Taqqadum, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Shortly after his return from deployment, Captain Peltier was assigned as the Headquarters Company Commander, Seventh Marine Regiment from January 2020 to August 2020.
 
In August 2020 Captain Peltier reported to Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group, Headquarters Battalion, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command. Captain Peltier was assigned to the Regimental Air Assault Course team of the Maneuver section. In January of 2021 Captain Peltier was promoted to the rank of Major. 
 
Major Peltier currently serves as the Inspector-Instructor for Company C, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment.
 
Major Peltier's personal awards include the, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in-lieu of third award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
