Biography

 

Captain Jacob P. Fairbanks
Inspector-Instructor
Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment

Captain Jacob Fairbanks graduated from MCRD San Diego in October of 2013, and proceeded to Marine Combat Training and Logistics Operations School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. In March of 2014 Captain Fairbanks checked into H&S Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 453, as a Maintenance Management Specialist. During this period Captain Fairbanks attended the University of Colorado Colorado Springs while serving as a Maintenance Management Clerk for the Battalion. He aided in the maintenance process for Marine Corps Prepositioning Program - Norway in June 2016, and was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in July 2017.

In May of 2018, Captain Fairbanks graduated from University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, commissioning in August of 2018 and reporting to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. After graduation, he attended Marine Artillery Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Captain Fairbanks checked into Battery Q, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines, in March of 2020, where he held the billet of Fire Direction Officer and Platoon Commander. Captain Fairbanks then took over as Headquarters Battery Executive Officer for several months. In May of 2021, he deployed to Okinawa on the Unit Deployment Program as the Second Platoon Platoon Commander, where he participated in the combined joint operation Talisman Sabre 21 in Queensland, Australia. Upon completion of the exercise, his platoon was attached to Marine Rotational Force-Darwin where Captain Fairbanks was the Major Subordinate Element Commander and executed Exercises Loobye and Koolendong, providing long range precision fires for the combined task force. Upon return from deployment Captain Fairbanks continued in his billet as platoon commander until his departure from 5th Battalion, 11th Marines in May of 2022.

In May 2022, Captain Jacob Fairbanks received orders to Second Battalion, Fourteenth Marine Regiment where he currently holds the billet as Battery F Inspector-Instructor aboard Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Captain Fairbanks has a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
