Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Greer
Commanding Officer
Combat Logistics Battalion 451

Lieutenant Colonel Greer is a native of Biloxi, Mississippi. He graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and received his commission through the Platoon Leaders Class May 2007. After graduating from The Basic School in May 2008, 2ndLt Greer attended and graduated from the Logistics Officer School at Camp Johnson, NC.  

2ndLt Greer was assigned to Transportation Support Company, 2nd Supply Battalion (-) REIN, served as a motor transport platoon commander, and deployed to Al Anbar Province Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning from Iraq in September 2009 1stLt Greer was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion - 2 as the Battalion Logistics Officer, S4. In July 2010 he deployed with CLB-2 to Helmand Province Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 1stLt Greer was selected for career designation, declined, and left active duty in July 2011 after returning from Afghanistan.  

Upon completion of Active Duty, Captain Greer moved to Charlotte, NC and joined corporate America. In February 2013 after two years in the IRR, Captain Greer joined Combat Logistics Regiment 45 as the S4 Officer. Shortly after, he was assigned as a platoon commander, Personnel Retrieval and Processing Company (PRP Co) and earned the 0407 MOS after completing the Mortuary Affairs Officer Course, Fort Lee, VA. While assigned to PRP Co Captain Greer served as the Executive Officer and the Company Commander. In April 2015 Captain Greer was mobilized with Marine Central Command, Marine Coordination Element A/Q, to serve as the Manpower Analyst in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in Al Udeid, Qatar. During this time Captain Greer was reassigned as the Deputy OIC - Afghanistan (O-5 billet) at Bagram AFB until redeploying in November 2015 to return as the Company Commander for PRP Co until December 2017.  

After command Major Greer enrolled in Command and Staff College - weekend seminar program and joined the IMA detachment in the G4 Operations Section, II Marine Expeditionary Force for approximately one year. Major Greer was then assigned to CLB 451 to serve as the S4 and in April 2020 assumed the role of Battalion Executive Officer. While serving as the XO, Major Greer was involuntarily mobilized to lead Task Force Commitment to support Marine Corps Recruit Depot Paris Island during the COVID pandemic. Shortly after returning to CLB 451 Major Greer was assigned to 4th Marine Logistics Group, Inspector Generals Office, as the Inspection Team OIC.  

LtCol Greer assumed command of Combat Logistics Battalion 451 in June 2025.  

LtCol Greer's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.  

When not wearing the uniform LtCol Greer serves as a Project Director, supporting clints construction projects as an owner’s representative, currently supporting the construction of a new $1.5 billion hospital in Charlotte, NC. Additionally, he is a contract Corporate Pilot supporting operations in a CE-680 Sovereign + and a flight instructor.
