Biography

 

Sergeant Major Adrian L. Tagliere
Site Sergeant Major

Sergeant Major Tagliere is a native of Rome, New York.  He graduated from Rome Free Academy and entered the Marine Corps in October 1992.  He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC in October 1992.  After recruit graduation, he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class and received orders to Camp Lejeune, NC for Marine Combat Training.  His Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) entry-level training was conducted at NAS Memphis, TN and Lemoore, CA.  Upon completion, he was granted the MOS 6317 designating him as an F/A-18 Organizational Level Communication, Navigation, Radar and Weapon Systems Avionics Technician.

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere reported to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort, SC in January of 1994 as an Avionics Technician.  There he was initially assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 (MALS-31) and in March of 1994, reassigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 451 (VMFA-451).  In December of 1995 Sergeant Major Tagliere was promoted to Corporal, and in August of 1996, meritoriously promoted to Sergeant.  During his tour with the Warlords, he held the billets of crew supervisor, Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and Collateral Duty Inspector.  Sergeant Major Tagliere executed two Western Pacific deployments with the Warlords

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere reported to VMFA-115 MCAS Beaufort, SC in September 1996 as an Avionics Technician.  He performed one Western Pacific deployment with the VMFA-115 Silver Eagles and held the billets of shop Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Collateral Duty Inspector and Quality Assurance Representative. 

 

In August 1998, Sergeant Major Tagliere was assigned Instructor Duty at Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21 (MATSG-21), Aviation Maintenance Squadron 2 (AMS-2) in Pensacola, FL.  Here he Instructed Avionics at the Naval Aviation Technical Training Center.  In May of 1999, shortly after earning his instructor certifications, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.  In June of 2000, Sergeant Major Tagliere was selected to be the Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Leadership Education And Development (LEAD) program.  He was also Chief Instructor for Pensacola’s Marine Corps Martial Arts Program satellite school.  In July of 2002 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere was then transferred to MCRD Parris Island in September 2002 for Drill Instructor duty.  There he held the billets of Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Series Gunnery Sergeant, Company 1stSgt, Headquarters Operations Chief, and Headquarters Operations Officer. 

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere received orders to the VMFA(AW)-332 Moonlighter’s at MCAS Beaufort, SC in March 2006.  He held the billets of Squadron Gunnery Sergeant, Avionics Division Chief, Avionics Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative.

 

In March of 2007, Sergeant Major Tagliere transferred to the VMFA(AW)-224 Bengal’s where he assumed billet of Avionics Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge.  On February 1, 2008 after completing his fourth Western Pacific deployment with the Bengal’s, he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. 

 

Once promoted to First Sergeant, Sergeant Major Tagliere received orders to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division.  While assigned with the Superbreed Combat Engineer’s, he served as the Company First Sergeant for five of the six Companies in the Battalion including; Headquarters and Service Company, Company A, Company B, Company C, and Mobility Assault Company.  He executed a combat deployment to Afghanistan with Bravo Company who provided Combat Engineer Support for Regimental Combat Team-2 and Regimental Combat Team-7, in the Regional Command’s Southwest area of operations.  

 

In June 2011, Sergeant Major Tagliere reported to Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21 (MATSG-21) to serve as the Squadron First Sergeant for Aviation Maintenance Squadron 2 (AMS-2).  He was selected for promotion to Sergeant Major in November 2013 and then received orders back to Beaufort, SC.

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere reported to MCAS Beaufort, SC April of 2014 where he was appointed as the Sergeant Major for the Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 (MWSS-273) Sweathogs.

 

In February 2015, Sergeant Major Tagliere was transferred to the VMFA-312 Checkerboards.  With the Checkerboards, he executed a deployment to the Western Pacific for his fifth time.  

In April 2017 Sergeant Major Tagliere reported to his current post, as the Site Sergeant Major for Marine Air Control Group-48, aboard Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois.

 

Sergeant Major Tagliere’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with three gold stars in lieu 4th award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy Achievement Medal with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal with one silver and two bronze stars in lieu of 8th award.
