New policies released for Active Reserve Enlisted Career Force Control

3 Feb 2015 | Cpl. Tiffany Edwards U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve

Marine administrative message 032/15 provides Marines with the updated Active Reserve Enlisted Career Force Control policies for fiscal year 2015.

The Reserve component is authorized to maintain a cadre of full-time support personnel who are primarily responsible for assisting in the organization, administration, recruitment, instruction, training, maintenance and supply support to Reserve units.

The ECFC program works as a tool to improve the management of the career force in both the active-duty and Reserve components. The director of Reserve Affairs has instituted the ARECFC program in order to shape the inventory of AR Marines by grade and military occupational specialty to meet the requirements of the AR program. This process involves standardizing promotion flow points across all MOSs, maintaining career progression opportunities for AR Marines, retaining the most qualified Marines, and complying with title 10 U.S. Code end strength requirements.

The ARECFC program’s goal is to ensure the most qualified and capable AR Marines remain ready to staff AR career force requirements. The MARADMIN outlines details for AR promotions, career designation re-enlistment goals and time-in-service requirements for each grade and re-enlistment bonus guidelines. For more information, see the MARADMIN.
