Lieutenant Colonel Adam D. Bonifant
Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 23

Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant is a native of Virginia Beach, VA, attending school there through high school graduation in 1992. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in December 2001, having completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Tech. Following Basic School and the Logistics Officer Course, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines in December 2002. During this tour, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant served as the Motor-T Platoon Commander, Maintenance Management Officer and Battalion Logistics Officer in various exercises and two unit deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In June 2005, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant transferred to the IRR before joining 4th Supply Battalion in August 2006, where he served as Assistant Operations officer. Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant subsequently reported to Rations Company in April 2007 where he served as Company Commander. Concurrently, from August 2007 to May 2008, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant served at Marine Forces Command in the G1 Operations directorate as the Training and Exercise Officer. Ordered back to 4th Supply Battalion HQ after successfully serving at Rations Company, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant served as the Assistant Operations Officer. The following year, in April 2009, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant deployed to Bagram Airbase, Afghanistan as the OIC of the MARCENT Support Element in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing that deployment, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant returned to 4th Supply Battalion as the Battalion Logistics Officer. In February 2010, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant was reassigned to Engineer Maintenance Company, Omaha, Nebraska, where he served as Company Commander until May 2012. Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant served at 4th Landing Support Battalion, Joint Base Lewis McChord from June 2012 – June 2013 as the Operations Officer, guiding the Battalion through the FSRG process whereby 4th LSB became CLB-23. After being realigned out of a billet, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant reported to 23d Marine Regiment, San Bruno, CA as the Regimental Logistics Officer where he served until September 2016. Since then, Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant has served at Headquarters, 4th Marine Logistics Group as the Headquarters Training Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Bonifant’s personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (3rd award) and the Navy Achievement Medal.
