Private First Class Ranulfo Aguirre Jr. attended and graduated from Boot Camp at MCRD San Diego, CA, in June 2006, and Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA, in August 2006. He then completed Aviation Ordnance “A” School from October 2006 to February 2007. Assigned to the AV8-B platform, he was promoted to Lance Corporal and attended the AV8-B Armament Organizational Systems maintenance “C” School, completing it in March 2007 as a 6531 Aviation Ordnance Technician.
 
In April 2007 Following “C” School, Aguirre was assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 211 (VMA-211) at MCAS Yuma, AZ and deployed with the 11th MEU as VMM-166 (REIN) from October 2007 to June 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon return, he was reassigned temporarily to VMA-513 as Team Leader (TL)/Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI). In March 2009, he was reassigned to VMA-214 as Quality Assurance/Safety Observer (QASO) and CDI. He deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan, from May to November 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
In March 2010 he was promoted to Corporal and Sergeant in May 2011, Aguirre deployed with the 11th MEU as VMM-268 Ordnance Division SNCOIC from November 2011 to April 2012. He then attended Basic Recruiters Course from October to December 2012 and was assigned to Recruiting Station Houston, TX, where he wrote 72 contracts. 
 
In November 2015 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant (SSgt), he then received orders to VMA-542 at MCAS Cherry Point, NC, in March 2016, and deployed to Okinawa/Iwakuni, Japan, for nine months. Returning in February 2017, SSgt Aguirre attended WTI 2-17 and graduated from the MAWTS-1 Expeditionary Ordnance Course. He was assigned to the 26th MEU and deployed as VMM-162 (REIN) Ordnance AV8-B SNCOIC, supporting Operation Inherent Resolve missions out of Bahrain. Upon return in August 2018, he attended WTI 1-19 and ITX 1-19 as a dual hat QA/Ordnance SNCOIC. In May 2019, SSgt Aguirre returned to VMA-214, deploying to Saudi Arabia in support of OIR from May to August 2020. He managed duties as Squadron GySgt, supervised the Ordnance Division, and facilitated the merger of VMA-214 and VMA-311. 
 
On November 1, 2020 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt), he was then assigned to VMFA-225 in July 2021 as Ordnance Chief, Squadron GySgt, and EOR. From October 2021 to November 2023, he oversaw the expenditure of 200,731 pieces of class V ordnance and managed the squadron’s deployment and operational status.
 
On March 15, 2024 GySgt Aguirre was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant, and reported to MAG 13 as a faculty advisor to MAG University. In June, he received orders to 4th Law Enforcement Battalion Bravo Company in Allentown, PA, where he hold his current billet as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Aguirre's awards include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3), and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
