Dallas J. Sander is a native of Missoula Montana and Graduated from Valley Christian High School in 2004. He
attended Universal Technical Institute and Graduated with an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology in 2006. He entered the
United States Marine Corps as a Private First Class and graduated Recruit Training San Diego on January 18, 2008. PFC Sander
completed Marine Combat Training in March 2008 and was assigned to Logistics Operation School on Camp Johnson North Carolina
and completed his schooling in June 2008. PFC Sander was assigned to 8th Communication Battalion, Support Company, Maintenance
Platoon, Camp Lejeune North Carolina to serve as a Motor Transport Mechanic.
While assigned to 8th Communication Battalion he was promoted to LCpl in July 2008 and Cpl in April 2009. He served as a Squad
leader, Training NCO, Pre Extended Bin NCO, Layettes NCO, Tool Room NCOIC, Floor Chief and Quality Control Chief. In May
2011 Cpl Sander was meritoriously promoted to Sergeant, where he then assumed the duties of Commodities Chief and Shop Chief.
In June 2012 Sergeant Sander reported to 2D Maintenance Battalion, General Support Maintenance Company, Camp Lejeune NC
where he served as the Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of the Power Train section. In July 2012 Sergeant Sander was Detached
from 2d Maintenance Battalion and attached to Combat Logistics Battalion 8, Transportation Support Company, Organizational
Maintenance Platoon. While at Combat Logistics Battalion 8 Sergeant Sander served as the Platoon Sergeant for their seven Month
deployment in support of Operation Enduring freedom.
Sergeant Sander was reattached to 2d Maintenance Battalion General Support Maintenance Company in August 2013 and served as
their Quality Control NCOIC. In October 2015 he was detached TAD to CLB 22 Maintenance Platoon, Promoted to Staff Sergeant in
November 2015, as the Motor Transport Maintenance Chief and Company GySgt for the Logistics Command Element of the 22nd
Marine Expeditionary Unit and for their deployment from June 2016 to December 2016.
During June 2017 SSgt Sander was transferred back to 2d Maintenance Battalion, General Support Maintenance Company to serve as
the Engine Platoon 6.5 Engine Maintenance Chief, SNCOIC. In December 2017 he was assigned as the Engine Platoon Commander.
June 2018 Staff Sergeant Sander was assigned to Combat Instructor School and earned the MOS of a Combat Instructor (0913) and
Combat Marksmanship Coach (0933). He received orders to SOI-W, MCT Fox Company in September 2018. While at Fox Company
SSgt Sander served as Basic Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Combat Marksmanship Trainer (0931), Platoon Commander, Series
Commander and Company Gunnery Sergeant. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant November 2020 and served as the
Company 1stSgt for Fox company and Headquarters and Instruction Company until his departure.
October 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Sander reported to 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment as the Motor Transport Chief. April 2022-
October 2022 he deployed to Okinawa Japan for the 31st MEU and was assigned as the Company Commander, 1stSgt and Company
GySgt for Company I while the Battalion was on ship for four months. Upon returning he re-assumed the duties as the Motor Transport
Chief.
September 2023 Gunnery Sergeant Sander reported to 1st Reconnaissance Battalion as the Motor Transport Chief and Environmental
Compliance Coordinator. December 2023 Gunnery Sergeant Sander was Selected for First Sergeant and promoted in June 2024.
July 2024 First Sergeant Sander reported to Kilo company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Regiment to fill the roll as the Inspector Instructor First
Sergeant and is currently serving.
1stSgt Sergeant Sander's personal awards include; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement
Medal.
