First Sergeant Christopher Puckett enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and arrived at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina in September 2005.  Upon graduating recruit training in January 2006, First Sergeant Puckett attended Marine Combat Training in Camp Geiger, North Carolina.  After completion of Camp Geiger, he was sent to 29-Palms California for training in Field Radio Operator and Mobile Multichannel Equipment Operator.  He also completed Basic Law Enforcement Training with Mitchell Community College this year.

He was called to active duty in April 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.  Puckett attended Mohave Viper training in Quantico, Virginia.  He was then attached to 1st Marine Logistics Group, Combat Logistics Regiment 17 where he was assigned to Radio/Mux Platoon.  Puckett was Motor Transportation NCO being in charge of all communication vehicles within CLR 17.  He was also assigned duties such as Radio Watch and assisted the Marine Wing Support Squadron 373 with base security forces where he received a letter of appreciation from the Commanding Officer. 

In October 2009 Corporal Puckett became third Squad Leader with in Radio Platoon.  In June 2010 Puckett participated in Javelin Thrust where he was tasked to maintain convoy operations.  Puckett organized multiple convoys to and from various locations in effort to transport mission essential gear.  In January 2011 Puckett was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and continued as Third Squad Leader.  In May 2011.  In August 2011 Puckett obtained the billet of Platoon Sergeant for Radio Platoon.  In 2011 Puckett awarded the Life Saving Award from Chief Thomas Anderson of Statesville Police Department, and recognized by Governor Perdue of North Carolina for his efforts while on duty.

In April 2012 Puckett completed the necessary training in effort to become a Traffic Crash Re-constructionist in the state of North Carolina.  In May 2012 Puckett obtained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Mitchell Community College Statesville, North Carolina.  In June 2012 he achieved the Traffic Enforcement & Investigations Certificate Program with the North Carolina Justice Academy.  This required over 500 hours of class prior to being selected.  In August 2012 he completed the Basic Instructor Course through the North Carolina Justice Academy.  August 2012 Sergeant Puckett attended the Advanced Radio Operators Course in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  In November 2012 he completed the Specialized Driver Instructor Course with the North Carolina Justice Academy and started teaching drivers training for Law Enforcement at Mitchell Community College Statesville, North Carolina.  

In March 2013 Puckett assumed the role of SNCOIC over Radio Platoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.  In May of 2014 Puckett achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant one month after as he transferred to the Inactive Ready Reserve.  Later on in August of 2016 Puckett returned to Communications Company assuming the billet of Radio Chief with 4th MLG, Communications Company CLR 45.  During November 2016 Puckett assumed the role of Company Gunnery Sergeant.  And holding it until he assumed Operations Chief  two Months after he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in Fall of 2020.  

During this time Puckett was in charge of orchestrating and planning out operations from Communication Exercises with Army Air Support to Annual Rifle Qualifications, Pistol Qualifications, to Annual Training Exercises to completing Periodic Health Assessments and served as Senior Enlisted Leader of 1st Platoon in the fall of 2024.  During Spring of 2025 Puckett was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and transferred to Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines, Canton, OH where he now serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader.
