First Sergeant Eric M. Wilson
Inspector-Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader

First Sergeant Wilson is a native of Corning, New York.  He graduated from Corning East High School in June of 2007 and reported to MCRD Parris Island, SC in September of 2007.  Graduating from recruit training in December, he then reported to the School of Infantry in Camp Geiger, NC, for Marine Combat Training.  
 
After completing Marine Combat Training in February of 2008, First Sergeant Wilson reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL to accomplish his "A" school as an Airframe Structural Mechanic. He then followed on with his training by attending Organizational-Level CH-53D/E structural mechanic course and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal.
 
First Sergeant Wilson reported to HMH-361 at his first duty station of MCAS Miramar, California in November 2008. There he served as an Airframe Structural and Hydraulic Mechanic. From there he deployed to Al Asad, Iraq in February of 2009, where he was also promoted to Corporal. In July of 2010, First Sergeant Wilson deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan with HMH-361. While deployed, he was promoted to Sergeant. He continued to serve in his primary MOS as a structural mechanic, but First Sergeant Wilson also volunteered to serve as an Aerial Observer aboard the CH-53E helicopter. Upon returning from his second combat tour, First Sergeant Wilson earned his Naval Aircrew wings, qualifying as both an Aerial Gunner and Tail Gunner. Now an Airframes CDQAR, First Sergeant Wilson deployed again with HMH-361 to Camp Bastion as the Airframes division NCOIC in support of 3rd MEF forward combat operations. During this deployment, First Sergeant Wilson received his designation as a Plane Captain, was nominated as the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (FWD) NCO of the Quarter and earned his Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 silver stars.
 
In June of 2013, First Sergeant Wilson received orders to HMX-1 in Quantico, VA where he reported to Executive Support and served as an Airframe Mechanic on CH-46E and MV-22B aircraft. Once cleared, he transitioned directly to Executive Flight Detachment maintaining the President's VH-3D and VH-60N helicopters, eventually as a multi-system Quality Assurance representative and trip leader. While in Quantico, he attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor Course and finished as the Honor Graduate for MAIC 177-16.  First Sergeant Wilson served two United States Presidents in over 20 detachments to 9 countries during his time at the Presidential Helicopter Squadron. 
 
First Sergeant Wilson received orders to HMH-461 in June of 2018 where he served as the Airframes Division Chief and Airframes Quality Assurance Representative. While at HMH-461 he graduated from the Force Fitness Instructor Course in Quantico, VA, and successfully challenged the CH-53 Flightline Mechanic course. Further pursuing personal betterment, he was uniquely granted permission to become a "homegrown" Crew Chief on the CH-53E. This required him to attend Aircrew training school in Pensacola, FL, and be evaluated by HMHT-302 which he summarily did. In April 2021, he was meritoriously promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. First Sergeant Wilson transitioned to the CH-53K King Stallion helicopter and served the Marines of HMH-461 as their Airframes Division Chief, multi-system Airframes/Flightline Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative, Crew Chief, Force Fitness Instructor, and senior Martial Arts Instructor.
 
In October of 2022, First Sergeant requested and received orders to School of Infantry East aboard Camp Lejeune, NC. He graduated Combat Instructor course 1-23 as the Honor Graduate and assumed the duties of Company Gunnery Sergeant, Company I, Marine Combat Training Battalion. First Sergeant Wilson was chosen to serve as a Combat Instructor trainer at Combat Instructor School which he did until being selected to the rank of First Sergeant. Once frocked,  First Sergeant Wilson led the Marines of Kilo Company, Marine Combat Training Battalion as their Company First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Wilson currently serves the Marines of 4th Law Enforcement Battalion Alpha Company in Lexington, Kentucky as their Inspector & Instructor First Sergeant.
 
First Sergeant Wilson's awards include the Air Medal (w/ numeral 7), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (w/ 2 gold stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
 
He enjoys volunteering at his church, competitive shooting, metal fabrication, playing drums, and spending time with his family.
