Captain Stevens is a native of Rockledge, FL and raised in Houston, MO. He enlisted into the Marine Corps in November of 2002 and reported to MCRD San Diego for basic training in May of 2003. Upon completion of initial training he earned the MOS of 0621 Field Radio Operator.
While enlisted he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with 3rd Battalion 7th Marines and with 25th Marines. He deployed in support of Partnerships of the Americas in 2006 and to the Republic Of Georgia in 2007 in support of Georgia Stability and Security Operations Program with Marine Forces Europe. He was combat promoted to Staff Sergeant in January 2009. Upon returning from Iraq he attended Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Academy in 2010 in Quantico, VA and Radio Chief Course in 2011 in 29 Palms, CA. He was accepted into Officer Candidate School and reported to Quantico, VA on September 22, 2013. Upon completion of Officer Candidate School he reported to The Basic School where he graduated with honors.
Captain Stevens reported to Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, Fort Leonard Wood, MO in July 2014 and graduated with honors. He reported to Support Co, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Minneapolis, Minnesota in November 2014 were he was assigned as 1st Platoon Commander. In June 2017, he became Executive Officer of Alpha Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion, Lexington, Kentucky. In February of 2019 Captain Stevens was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support with Task Force Southwest as a Military Police Advisor. Upon his return in June 2020, Captain Stevens assumed command of Alpha Company, 4th Law Enforcement Battalion.
Captain Stevens’ 4th Law Enforcement Battalion operational assignments include 1st Law Enforcement Battalion Provost Marshall Office, Camp Pendleton, CA in 2015, ‘Operation African Lion’ in Morocco, Africa in 2016, 2nd Law Enforcement Battalion operational support in 2017, and ‘Operation Keen Edge’, Camp Foster Japan in 2018.
Captain Stevens has a B.S. in Political Science from Northwest Missouri State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He passed the Missouri Bar and was awarded the title of Attorney at Law and is the elected Texax County District Attorney.
His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat “C” device, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal.
