First Sergeant Everton A. Hart

First Sergeant Hart is a native of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. He entered the Marine Corps on 22 September 2003, and went through Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island, South Carolina. Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. After graduation from MCT, he was sent to Marine Corps Motor Transportation School, Fort Leonard wood, Missouri where he was trained as a Motor vehicle operator, and was promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

After graduation from his MOS school Private First Class Hart was sent to Okinawa, Japan for duty with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, where he served for three years. While in Okinawa, Japan he was attached to 2nd FSSG, Military Police Detachment to conduct convoy security in Iraq. In November 2006, Lance Corporal Hart was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Hart Extended with 9th ESB and returned to Iraq where he held the billet as Motor Transportation NCO for the Road Repair Crew.

Upon returning from Iraq in March 2007, he received orders to Head Quarters and service Battalion, Quantico, VA. Corporal Hart was promoted to Sergeant in July 2007. Sergeant Hart was transferred to the Base Commander’s Office in July 2007 where he served as the Enlisted Aide and Driver. He held this billet for two and a half years before receiving orders to Marine Security Guard School in February 2010. Upon graduation of MSG School, Sergeant Hart was transferred to Tallinn, Estonia to serve as a Marine Security Guard. In July 2011, Sgt Hart rotated to Islamabad and took over as Acting Detachment Commander until April 1, 2012. Sgt Hart was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant on July 2, 2012. Serve as the Detachment Commander for Detachment Colombo, Sri Lanka from December 2012 to March 3013 until receiving orders to 2nd LAR BN, Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.

In 2nd LAR BN he served in numerous billets to include the Operations Chief, Truck Master, Platoon Sergeant and the Battalion Equal Opportunity Representative. In 2016, SSgt Hart was transferred to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines to serve as the Motor Transport Operations Chief. During his time with 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, SSgt Hart served as the Motor Transport Operations Chief for the Forward Deployed Battalion- West 17-1 deployment to the Pacific Theatre from September 2016 to May 2017. In August 2017, he was promoted to his current rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant Hart participating in the 13th MEU deployment with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, where he served as the Operations Chief and the Company Gunnery Sergeant for the USS Anchorage.

First Sergeant Hart joined 1st Transportation Support Battalion in May 2019. He Served as the Battalion Training Chief until July 2020 when he became the Company Gunnery Sergeant for Bravo Company until June 2021. On, July 1, 2021 First Sergeant Hart was Frocked to his current rank and serving at Bravo Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, as the Inspector and Instructor First Sergeant.

First Sergeant Hart’s awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal w/3 Gold Star, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal w/1 Gold Stars, Iraqi Campaign Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal w/4 Bronze Stars.
