Sergeant Major Dwain T. Norman
Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major, 25th Marine Regiment

Sergeant Major Dwain T. Norman enlisted in the Marine Corps in July of 1993 and completed recruit training at MCRD Parris Island. Following recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training, Camp Geiger, North Carolina. In January 1994, Sergeant Major Norman reported to Motor Transport School and was assigned the MOS 3533, Logistical Vehicle Operator. In March 1994, he reported to 8th Communication Battalion, 2d Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group, where he served as a Motor Transport Operator. While assigned to this unit, Sergeant Major Norman deployed to Norway in 1995 for the Cold Weather Training Package. In September 1995, Sergeant Major Norman reported to 3d Support Battalion, 3d Force Service Support Group for duty as a Motor Transport Operator. In March 1996, he deployed with MSSG-31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, to Pusan, Korea and Hong Kong. Upon completion of this deployment, Sergeant Major Norman was re-assigned to the Battalion Marksmanship Unit as the Primary Marksmanship Instructor.  

In September 1996, Sergeant Major Norman reported to Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, Marine Wing Support Group 27 for duty as a Section Leader. While assigned to this command, he participated in numerous Combined Arms Exercises conducted at 29 Palms, California. In January 2000, Sergeant Major Norman reported to 9th Engineer Support Battalion for duty as the Battalion Truck Master/ S-3 Training Chief. During this assignment, he deployed to Australia, in support of Operation Tandem Thrust. Sergeant Major Norman later redeployed to the Philippines while attached to Joint Task Force 510, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In January 2003, Sergeant Major Norman reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, to attend Drill Instructor School. After completion of the Drill Instructor School, he was assigned to Company F, 2d Recruit Training Battalion, where he served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of receiving.  

In May 2006, Sergeant Major Norman reported to 3d Battalion, 10th Marines for duty as the Battery Motor Transport Chief. During this assignment, he deployed with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit attached to Battalion Landing Team 2/2. Sergeant Major Norman later redeployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Battery Gunnery Sergeant. In May 2009, Sergeant Major Norman reported to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Training and Education Command, where he served as Faculty Advisor at the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy. He was re-assigned to Officer Candidate School as a summer augment for the 2009 and 2010 Bulldog Program as a Platoon Sergeant and Sergeant Instructor.  

In July 2011, Sergeant Major Norman reported to 2d Battalion 8th Marines for duty. He was assigned to Company G as the Company First Sergeant. During this assignment, Sergeant Major Norman deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In March 2014, Sergeant Major Norman reported to School of Infantry East, Infantry Training Battalion for duty. He was assigned to Company B and later reassigned to Headquarters and Instructor Company as the Company First Sergeant. In October 2016, Sergeant Major Norman was reassigned to Advanced Infantry Battalion, Advanced Infantry Training as the Company First Sergeant. In January 2017, Sergeant Major Norman arrived at Marine Air Group 49 Detachment B for duty as the Site Sergeant Major. 

On 6 May 2020, Sergeant Major reported to 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Fort Devens, MA to assume his current role as Inspector-Instructor Sergeant Major. 

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars and the Combat Action Ribbon.   

Sergeant Major Norman is a graduate of American Military University with an Associate Degree in General Studies and a Bachelor Degree in Business Management.
