Sergeant Major Thomas M. Viotti
Inspector-Instructor Command Senior Enlisted Leader
25th Marine Regiment

Sergeant Major Thomas M. Viotti is a native of Arcadia, California.  He reported to Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California, 02 March 1994 and graduated 20 May 1994.  PFC Viotti then reported to Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California.  PFC Viotti then attended Marine Artillery Scout Observer Course in Ft Sill, Oklahoma. PFC Viotti then reported to Naval Gunfire School, in Coronado, California. 

Upon completion of training, PFC Viotti received orders and reported to 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO), in Long Beach, California,  PFC Viotti participated in many exercises and received promotions to Corporal and Sergeant during this period.  Sergeant Viotti completed his obligated service in the Selected Marine Corps Reserves in March of 2000. 

Sergeant Viotti re-enlisted into the Active component of the Marine Corps in July of 2003.  

Sergeaant Viotti received orders to 1st ANGLICO, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, in Camp Pendleton, California.  During this time Sergeant Viotti attended the Fire Support in Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Operations School in Ft Sill, Oklahoma. Sergeant Viotti was assigned as a Firepower Control Chief until his deployment to Iraq where he was assigned as the Supporting Arms Liaison Team B in August of 2004.  Sergeant Viotti was deployed again in August of 2005 in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom as a Firepower Control Team Chief and augmented to the II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Personal Security Detail until March 2006.  Sergeant Viotti was promoted to Staff Sergeant (SSGT) in August of 2006 and assigned as the Training Chief for 1st ANGLICO. SSgt Viotti deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in September of 2006. 

Staff Sergeant Viotti reported to Drill Instructor School, in Parris Island, South Carolina.  Upon completion from Drill Instructor School, Staff Sergeant Viotti attended the Martial Arts Instructor School, and was then assigned to Company L, 3d Recruit Training Battalion.  Staff Sergeant Viotti  held many billets as a Drill Instructor to include, Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor.  Staff Sergeant Viotti was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in January 2010.  Gunnery Sergeant Viotti was subsequently assigned to Company I, and later Company K.  Gunnery Sergeant Viotti completed his tour in November of 2010.

Gunnery Sergeant Viotti reported to the Inspector Instructor Staff at 3d ANGLICO, in Bell, California where he served as the Operations Chief. During this period Gunnery Sergeant Viotti attended the Basic Airborne School, in Ft Benning, Georgia, the Tactical Air Control Party School, in Coronado, California, and Jumpmaster School, in Camp Pendleton, California.  Gunnery Sergeant Viotti was selected to First Sergeant and frocked in April of 2013. 

First Sergeant Viotti reported to 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, 2d Marine Division, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in May of 2013.  First Sergeant Viotti was assigned to Battery I from May 2013 until March 2016. During this time First Sergeant Viotti deployed with Battalion Landing Team 3/6, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in December 2014 to July 2015.

First Sergeant Viotti reported to 3d Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment (CLR) 35, 3d Marine Logistics Group in April 2016, in Okinawa, Japan.  First Sergeant Viotti was assigned to Electronics Maintenance Company, Headquarters and Service Company, and Headquarters Company, CLR 35.  

In August 2019, First Sergeant Viotti reported to 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group 28, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, in Cherry Point, North Carolina where he served as the Headquarters and Service Battery First Sergeant.  First Sergeant Viotti was selected to his current rank in November of 2019.

Sergeant Major Viotti served as the Battalion Sergeant Major for 2d Law Enforcement Battalion and 2d Combat Engineer Battalion from 2020-2023.  Sergeant Major currently serves as the Inspector Instructor Sergeant Major for 25th Marine Regiment. 

Sergeant Major Viotti's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of fourth award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
