Inspector-Instructor, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Earlie H. Walker Jr.

LtCol Earlie H. Walker Jr. is a native of Woodland, Alabama. He is a 2000 graduate of West Georgia University, with a BBA in Management.


LtCol Walker reported to Recruit Training Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina in November 1992.  Subsequently, he reported to Infantry Training Battalion, SOI (East) and graduated from the Anti-tank Assaultman MOS Course (0351).  After completion of the Marine Basic Security Guard Course in Chesapeake, VA, LtCol Walker reported to Marine Security Force Company, Naples, Italy in June 1993 as a post stander.  In 1995, LtCol Walker reported to Weapons Company, 2/6 where he served as gun team leader, squad leader, section leader, and platoon sergeant. During this time he completed a deployment with the 26 MEU.


After LtCol Walker’s initial tour on active duty, he attended West Georgia University and received his commission in December, 2000. In 2001, LtCol Walker reported to 2d LAR Bn serving as a Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer. During this period LtCol Walker completed two deployments to Iraq (OIF 2003 and OIF II-1 2004). LtCol Walker then reported to Infantry Training Battalion, SOI (East) serving as the Tactics OIC, Rifleman POI and Commanding Officer, Delta Company. In 2006 LtCol Walker reported to Recruiting Station Twin Cities, Minnesota as the Operations Officer.


Returning to 2d LAR Bn in 2009, LtCol Walker served as the Logistics Officer, Commanding Officer H&S Company, Commanding Officer, Delta Company, Battalion Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer. During this period, LtCol Walker completed two deployments to Afghanistan.


From 2013 to 2015, LtCol Walker attended Marine Corps University’s Command and Staff College and School of Advanced Warfighting. In June 2015, LtCol Walker returned to the operating forces and was assigned to 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) as a future operations and exercise planner. From June 2015 to July 2016, LtCol Walker participated in multiple exercises in the PACOM and Korean AORs. In July 2016 LtCol Walker transferred to II MEF to serve as the Plans and Concepts Officer, and from July 2016 to July 2018, completed multiple exercises and multi-national planning events in the EUCOM AOR.


LtCol Walker is a graduate of Boston University, earning a Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, and has earned Master’s Degrees from Marine Corps University in Military Studies and Operational Studies and completed Marine Corps University Expeditionary Warfare School.


LtCol Walker’s personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal (two awards), Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
