Peter Carlson is a native of St. Petersburg, he was adopted and raised by his family in La Plata, Maryland. He enlisted in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve in April 2014 and graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Paris Island November 2014. Private First Class Carlson attended supply military occupational training school located at Camp Johnson, North Carolina graduating January of 2015 as a warehouseman. Lance Corporal Carlson pursued a degree in Economics from Salisbury University while drilling out of Joint Base Bolling Anacostia; completing Officer Candidates School in August 2017. He graduated December 2018 earning a Bachelors in Economics with a Minor in Art. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in April of 2018 and attended The Basic School from May 2018 to December 2018. After his completion of The Basic School he reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola as a Student Naval Aviator.
Following his completion of Aviation preflight indoctrination he attended Logistics Officers Course, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 serving as the H&S Company XO, as well as the assistant Logistics Officer. He promoted to the rank of Captain July 2022. Following his promotion he assumed the duties as H&S Company Commander as well as the Squadron Logistics Officer.
Captain Carlson received orders to Motor Transport Company Site Support, Combat Logistics Battalion 451 in June 2024, where he currently serves as the Inspector Instructor.
