First Sergeant Borbor enlisted in the Marine Corps on 15 March, 2005 and underwent recruit training at Third Recruit Training Battalion, Mike Company, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduation from recruit training, Private Borbor reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) aboard Camp Pendleton, California. Following MCT, Private Borbor was subsequently assigned the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 3531 Motor Transportation Operator and went on to attend Motor Transportation Operator School at Fort Leonard wood, Missouri. Upon completion, Private Borbor was promoted to Private First Class and received orders to 1st Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He served as a Motor Transport Operator and Line Noncommissioned Officer (NCO).
In January of 2006, Private First Class Borbor deployed to Okinawa, Japan, in support of Unit Deployment Program where he earned the rank of Lance Corporal. Upon returning from Japan, Lance Corporal Borbor was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In March 2007, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) conducting Task Force Military Police missions and earned the Combat Action Ribbon. While deployed, he served as the platoon's Motor Transportation Chief. On 2 May 2008 he was meritoriously promoted to sergeant and served in a multitude of billets to include Licensing Program Specialist NCO, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Battery Motor Transportation Chief. In September 2008, Sergeant Borbor deployed to Iraq again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). He served as a Squad Leader, Element Leader, and the platoon's Motor Transportation Chief. While in Iraq, Sergeant Borbor also attended the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) Instructor Course and became a MCMAP instructor.
In March of 2009, Sergeant Borbor received orders to Marine Corps Embassy Security Group (MCESG) for Marine Security Guard (MSG) School. Upon graduation, he was subsequently assigned to MSG Detachment Algiers, Algeria. He served as the Morale Welfare and Recreational NCO, Ball NCO, Mess NCO, Motor Transport NCO, Supply NCO, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) NCO. In December 2010, Sergeant Borbor reported to MSG Detachment Beijing, China. He served as a Squad Leader and CBRN NCO. He also served in high visibility security missions to include working on the security details for the Secretary of State and Vice President of the United States.
In October of 2011, Sergeant Borbor received orders to American Embassy Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant and served as the Assistant Detachment Commander. In July 2012, Staff Sergeant Borbor received orders to American Embassy Ottawa, Canada and served as the Detachment Commander. In November 2012, Staff Sergeant Borbor executed orders to 3D Marine Regiment, Marine Corps Base, Hawaii. He served as the Regiment Truck Master, Platoon Sergeant, and Operation Chief. While with 3D Marines, Staff Sergeant Borbor conducted training exercises in Okinawa Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, including Ramp of the Pacific exercise in Hawaii. In June 2013, he reported to Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Career Course Class 5-13 and received a Letter of Appreciation from the Director of the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Camp Lejeune for helping to raise over $2,000 by participating in a CrossFit for Hope fundraiser to cure children's catastrophic illnesses.
In September 2015, Staff Sergeant Borbor attended Martial Arts Instructor Training Course in Quantico, VA. Upon graduation he became a First-Degree Martial Arts Instructor Trainer. In March 2016, Staff Sergeant Borbor received orders to Combat Logistic Battalion 8 (CLB 8) and served as the Training Chief. In April 2016, Staff Sergeant Borbor conducted Baltic Operations (BALTOPS) and served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant. In January 2017 Staff Sergeant Borbor went on a deployment to Sigonella, Italy, in support of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Africa (SP-MAGTF-CR-AF). While on the deployment, Staff Sergeant Borbor Served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant, Facility Chief, Substance Abuse Control Officer (SACO), and Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) team SNCOIC. As the TSC team SNCOIC, Staff Sergeant Borbor conducted a mission to Senegal to train four Battalions of Senegalese Soldiers in convoy operations in order to prepare them for combat missions to Mali. Upon returning from deployment, Staff Sergeant Borbor was assigned to CLB 8 Transportation Service Company. He served as a Section Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and acting Platoon Commander.
On 1 July 2018, he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and served as CLB 8 Battalion Training Chief. In January 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Borbor reported to Staff Noncommissioned Officers Academy in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Advance Course Class 2-19. In April 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Borbor reported to Recruiters School, Basic Recruiter Course Class 4-19. Upon graduation he reported to Recruiting Station (RS) Twin Cities, Recruiting Sub Station (RSS) Bloomington, Minnesota. He served as a production recruiter. In December 2020, Gunnery Sergeant Borbor was hand selected by the Recruiting Station Commanding Officer to become the Station commander for RSS Bloomington. While on recruiting duty Gunnery Borbor was awarded four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his efforts in support of the recruiting mission. In October 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Borbor finished and received an Associates of Arts Degree at American Military University. In August 2022, Gunnery Sergeant Borbor reported to 2D Battalion 11th Marines and served as the Assistant Battalion Truck Master.
In January 2023, First Sergeant Borbor was frocked to his current rank and executed orders to Inspector-Instructor Duty, Company A and Company H&S, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. He is currently serving as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant for both companies. First Sergeant Borbor's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one silver star in lieu of sixth award, and a Combat Action Ribbon.
