First Sergeant Giron enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2010 and attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego, CA. After graduating in November 2010, Private Giron attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton, California, and then reported to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, where he received the occupational specialty of Field Artillery Radar Operator. Private First Class Giron executed orders to Target Acquisition Platoon, Headquarters Battery, 11th Marine Regiment, and served as a radar operator.
Private First Class Giron was assigned to the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) Basic User Course and AFATDS Course at the MAGTF Integrated Systems Training Center and was appointed AFATDS Operator for the Target Processing Center. He received orders to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, in October 2011 to deploy as a provisional infantry Marine in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.
Lance Corporal Giron became part of a mobile assault platoon in Camp Leatherneck assigned to be the Immediate Reaction Team and Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel, taking part in several combat operations with the Afghanistan National Army, British Forces, and the Jordanian Armed Forces. Upon his return, Lance Corporal Giron was promoted and appointed to the billets of Counter Battery Radar Section Maintenance Chief and Global Combat Support System Non-Commissioned Officer.
On November 2, 2013, Corporal Giron was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He then served as the Target Processing Team Chief until volunteering and receiving orders to Marine Security Guard (MSG) School with class 3-14 as a student watch-stander. Upon completion of MSG school in May 2014, Sergeant Giron received orders to MSG Detachment Abuja, Nigeria, serving as the Assistant Detachment Commander.
Sergeant Giron executed orders to the MCESG Security Augmentation Unit in May 2015. He deployed on three Augmentation Orientation Deployments to Tbilisi, Georgia; Tirana, Albania; and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In October 2015, Sergeant Giron deployed on an augmentation mission to Bujumbura, Burundi, during civil unrest. He also deployed on four VIP missions to Mexico City, Mexico; Havana, Cuba; Manama, Bahrain; and Hiroshima, Japan, in support of the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State.
On July 2, 2016, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and subsequently took command of MSG Detachment, Copenhagen, Denmark. Following his tour on MSG, he received orders to Target Acquisition Platoon, Headquarters Battery, 11th Marine Regiment in March 2018 to serve as the Radar Chief and Target Processing Team Chief.
After completing the Marine Artillery Operations Chief Course in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, in September 2018, Staff Sergeant Giron executed orders to Battery F, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, and served as Battery Operations Chief. He deployed with the Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), participating in exercise COBRA GOLD in the Kingdom of Thailand.
On April 2, 2020, Staff Sergeant Giron was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He executed orders to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, in September 2020 to serve as the 81mm Mortar Platoon Sergeant. He deployed once again on the 31st MEU and completed a Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan, serving as Weapons Company Operations Chief, Unit Senior Enlisted Leader and Battalion Force Fitness Instructor. He participated in exercise INTREPID MAVEN in the United Arab Emirates and Korea Marine Exercise Program in Korea. In February 2024, Gunnery Sergeant Giron was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Giron Executed orders to Site Support Company F, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division in September 2024 where he serves as the Inspector-Instructor Unit Senior Enlisted Leader.
First Sergeant Giron's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
