First Sergeant Christopher G. Huth is a native of Abington, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Neshaminy High School, he enrolled at Drexel University for Mechanical Engineering. On June 19, 2003, upon completion of his first year of college he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
With his college credits he graduated from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, SC in February 2004 as a Private First Class. Private First Class Huth then reported to the School of Infantry (East), at Camp Geiger, NC for Marine Combat Training. Upon completion of Marine Combat Training he reported to the Engineer Equipment Instruction Company in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
In May 2004 he completed the Engineer Equipment Maintenance School and earned his MOS - Engineer Equipment Mechanic (1341). Private First Class Huth then reported to the 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Bridge Co. B in Folsom, Pa. While there he was promoted to the ranks of Lance Corporal, Corporal and Sergeant and held the billets of Engineer Equipment Mechanic, Tool Room NCO, Fire Team leader, Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant.
Sergeant Huth deployed with Combat Logistics Battalion 46 in May 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. From Iraq Sergeant Huth then deployed to Afghanistan in support Operation Enduring Freedom.
Upon his return, in March 2010, Sergeant Huth reported back to the 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Bridge Co. B. There he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and held the position of Platoon Commander.
In February 2015 Staff Sergeant Huth reported to Engineer Equipment Instruction Company in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he would complete his Engineer Equipment Chiefs course.
In February 2016 he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and held the billet of Platoon Commander for the Engineer Support Detachment attached to 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Bridge Co .B.
In February 2020 he joined 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, H&S Company and held the billet of Company Gunnery Sergeant.
First Sergeant Huth joined 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Delta Company in June 2022.
First Sergeant Huth was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
