Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Patrick M. Cartwright (MSC)

Lieutenant Junior Grade Cartwright is the Officer in Charge for 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistic Group.

LTJG Cartwright enlisted into naval service in 2009. After attending Basic Recruit Training and Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, IL, he began his first military tour at Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC as a general duty Corpsman in 2010. After a successful first tour, he completed Field Medical Training Battalion East and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines in 2012.

While at 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, then HM3 Cartwright served as Senior Line Corpsman of Kilo Company and obtained his Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Device. On his first deployment with 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit-Special Operations Capable (MEU-SOC), he attained his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Device on board the USS Carter Hall (LSD 50). Soon after the completion of his first deployment, he deployed with 8th Regimental Aid Station in support of 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines for the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response (SPMAGTF-CR) in Moron, Spain.

After his second deployment, HM3 Cartwright advanced to HM2 and was selected for the Naval Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) C- School. There he earned his Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentials. Upon graduating CVT school he reported to Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan where he was appointed as LPO for Internal Medicine and titled the Cardiac Subject Matter Expert for the Pacific. In 2018, he was Meritoriously Advanced to HM1 and completed his Bachelors Degree in 2019. HM1 Cartwright then executed follow on orders to Naval Medicine Training and Support Center (NMTSC), San Antonio, Tx.

While at NMTSC, He served as the CVT Service Lead, L06A NEC Enlisted Technical Leader, LPO of Cardiovascular Program and Officer Programs, and completed his Master of Public Health in 2021. HM1 was then selected for the Direct Accession commission program and promoted to the rank of LTJG. After completion of Officer Developmental School, he reported for his first assignment as a Medical Service Corps Officer at 4th Dental Battalion, 4th Marine Logistic Group. 

LTJG Cartwright ‘s personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal (3), Navy Good Conduct Medal (4), Military Outstanding Service Medal, and other awards and decorations.
