First Sergeant Carlos J. Moreira reported to 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina on January 2000. Following recruit training, he completed Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and then he proceeded to his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training at Marine Corps Detachment Fort Lee Virginia for 3361-Subsistence Supply Clerk Course. He successfully graduated MOS school on July 2000. First Sergeant Moreira was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Private First Class during MOS school.
On August 2000, he reported to 1st Force Service Support Group, Headquarters and Service Battalion, Camp Pendleton California. He held the billets of Storeroom Manager and Assistant Marine Corps Food Management Information System (MCFMIS) Chief. First Sergeant Moreira was TAD to Brigadier Service Support Group (BSSG-31) in 29 Palms California for 12 months as the Subsistence MCFMIS NCOIC for operation Steal Knight, Fire Ex and CAX.
January 2003, First Sergeant Moreira received overseas orders to Marine Wing Service Support-171 in Iwakuni, Japan. He served as the MCFMIS chief for the North-Side Messhall and two satellite locations. During his tour, he conducted operations in Australia, Korea, and the Philippines. First Sergeant Moreira received orders to Headquarters and Service Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar California in June 2004. He was assigned as the Messhall Liaison and Manager. After a year, he was reassigned as the Quality Assurance Evaluator (QAE) and the Assistant Contracting Officer Representative (ACOR) for MCAS Miramar.
On September 2007, he received order to Supply battalion, 3rd Marine Logistic Group, Okinawa Japan. Upon arrival to Japan, he was TAD to Combat Logistics Battalion-31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit as the Rations Chief and Platoon Sergeant for Supply Platoon. During this tour First Sergeant Moreira deployed to Thailand, Philippines, China, and Burma.
June 2008 First Sergeant Moreira executed orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina Drill Instructor School Class 4-08. Upon earning the 0911 MOS he was assigned to Quebec Company, Third Recruit Training Battalion. After completing three full cycles, he was transferred to Support Battalion, Special Training Company in which he held the billet of Senior Drill Instructor for three platoons, Evaluation Holding Platoon, Physical Conditioning Platoon, and Medical Holding Platoon. On November 2009 First Sergeant Moreira was reassigned to Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, in which he successfully completed four full cycles, three as a Senior Drill Instructor and one as the Company Operations Chief.
June 2012, First Sergeant Moreira reported to Headquarters Regiment, 1st Marine Logistics Group, in Camp Pendleton California, and held the billets of Company Gunnery Sergeant and Company First Sergeant. In January 2014 First Sergeant Moreira deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with Combat Logistics Battalion-7, as the Logistics Command Element Food Service Chief and Liaison Officer (LNO), and returned from Deployment on August 2014. Upon his return to Headquarters Regiment, he held the billets of Platoon Commander, Regimental Assistant Operations Chief, Training Chief, Command Financial Specialist, and Lean Six Sigma Continuous Process Improvement instructor for the MLG.
January 2016, First Sergeant Moreira joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve with Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion in Tampa Florida. He served as the Food Service Chief, Motor Transport Operations Security (MTOPS) SNCOIC, Battalion Career Planner, Company Gunnery Sergeant and acting Company First Sergeant. On July 2020 he was frocked to First Sergeant and received orders to Service Company, 6th Communication Battalion at Brooklyn NY. First Sergeant Moreira received orders on July 2023 to Weapons Company, 2D Battalion, 25th Marines at Brooklyn N.Y. where he is currently serving as the company First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Moreira has a two bachelors of Science degrees, one in Finance and the other in Risk Management and Insurance. He also has a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). His personal awards include the Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award and the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of the 3rd award.
