First Sergeant Roush enlisted in the Marine Corps on April 15, 2005 and attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego, California. Upon graduation in July, Private Roush Attended Marine Combat Training in Camp Pendleton, California, and Field Wireman's School in 29 Palms California.
In October 2005 Private First Class Roush was assigned to 7th Communication Battalion, 3rd Marine Headquarters Group at Camp Hansen, Okinawa Japan. Shortly after his assignment to 7th Communication Battalion, Private First Class Roush was given the opportunity to attend Coaches Course and was then transferred to Marksmanship Training Unit where he served as a Marksmanship Coach. In June 2006 Lance Corporal Roush returned to 7th Communication Battalion where he participated in two joint military exercises in 2007, RSOI in South Korea and Talisman Saber in Australia.
In October 2007 Lance Corporal Roush was assigned to Headquarters Company 1st Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton California. In January 2008 Lance Corporal Roush was deployed to Al Anbar province with Regimental Combat Team 1 (RCT-1) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In March 2008 he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal and after a 13 month deployment returned stateside in February 2009.
In July 2010, Sergeant Roush attended Drill Instructor School at MCRD San Diego and was assigned to Fox Company in October. Sergeant Roush served for 6 cycles and held billets of Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. In August 2012 Sgt Roush was assigned to Support Training Battalion where he served as a Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival.
In April 2013 Sergeant Roush transferred to the SMCR where he was assigned to Communication Company, 4th Marine Division. Promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2014 Staff Sergeant Roush held the billets of Platoon Sergeant, Network Chief, and Company Gunnery Sergeant.
In June 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Roush was mobilized and assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion 25 Marines for UDP 20.1. Upon his return in July 2020 Gunnery Sergeant Roush returned to Communication Company where he served as Company Gunnery Sergeant until his promotion to First Sergeant in May 2023.
First Sergeant Roush's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Drill Instructor Ribbon.
First Sergeant Roush currently serves as Company First Sergeant, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines. He holds an Associate Degree in General Studies from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. First Sergeant Roush currently works as a General Manager overseeing operations in Indiana for Allied Universal Security Services.
